taking over for Adam Booth now....

    Schaefer on his new role:

"They gave me full power to negotiate, so I'm talking to everybody," Schaefer said. "Yesterday they gave me the authorization to negotiate. And I usually get big fights done."

I'm assuming this is what led Bunce to say the fight will be moved to the States. No mention of Booth's mishandling of the negotiations though. Big surprise there...

lol at Rafael's response to Booth calling him an "Keyboard Warrior":

"I don't think it's bias to expose someone who spends a lot of time boasting about fights he supposedly wants to make, then manages the negotiations like a hand grenade. Put it this way: As a manager, well, Booth is a hell of a trainer. He makes Nacho Beristain look like Al Haymon."

probably but from all indications, it was Booth who was a major stumbling block in negotiations.

This isn't on Haye, it's on his manager.

They need to secure a venue first and foremost though

well, im putting 2 and 2 together...

*Booth is inexperienced and couldn't deliver the big venue when all other issues were agreed upon
*Booth is leaking info through the press in an attempt to come off as the good guy
    *Schaefer replaced Booth as negotiator
*Wlad has never had this much trouble in the past reaching deals

imo, the fact that Schaefer has taken over really drives home the point though.

Schaefer is negotiating with Shelly Finkel. Just as Booth has been sidelined in the negotiations, so has Bernd Boente. Any conclusions you are drawing from that should therefore be drawn equally for both sides.

    i agree on all points.

this may be true but i think most can agree Schaefer is far better equipped to get a deal done. Like CHEF said, if you can't deliver the goods don't agree to them.

May well be in this case, as may Finkel.

Its a positive sign, that Team Haye replaced Booth. He seemed to be the major problem in the negotiations.

I think they will reach a deal.

i say bring this fight to the US.. I'd fly pretty much anywhere in the country to see it, LA, NYC, Vegas. Sure, the fight belongs in Europe, but if it ends up here I would be stoked.
