But waved off Taylor against Chavez in the first fight with the lights in the corner signifying 10 seconds left in the round? Wtf

It would be remiss of a referee to hold off stopping a fight because there are seconds left. It’s twelve rounds, not eleven & change. I dismiss that common argument personally.

Now if you wanted to argue Steele was acting dishonestly, well that’s a different kettle of fish, & may or may not have something to it. But the “seconds left” scenario really holds no weight, IMO. If there are seconds left, then the fight is still in play.

Would you prevent a fighter from throwing a punch at 11:58? No, you wouldn’t.

There was seconds left in the first round and Blocker was way worse physically than Taylor was. Besides Taylor fought 12 hard rounds and should have been given the right to finish the fight and go to the scorecards when he was winning the fight.

Totally disagree on the idea he had some kind of right to finish the fight. What rule or spirit of the sport does that follow?
