The no nonsense, compact, freakishly strong Tiger, after being outboxed in the first 4 rounds, eventually catches up with, grinds down and bruises Canelo with short, effective punches. Canelo would be smothered...and rocked by the powerful Mr. Ihetu..who would content himself as usual with a conservative, points gathering decision over 15. Canelo would be especially vulnerable to punishment in the latter rounds as he gasps for breath vs a man even stronger than GGG.
Tiger wins but i m thinking it could be closer than expected. Canelo a tough guy in the trenches gives as much back but Tiger always looking the stronger man .But Canelo keep s on battling away and pick s up a share of the points .Tiger by a very narrow unanimous decision.
Canelo would be shocked at how strong Tiger was...and especially in those late rounds. Canelo is no Giardello or Griffith in dealing with the great Tiger man.
Canelo does well over the first half of the bout and it’s competitive, but Mr. Tiger takes over and pulls away, during the second half. Canelo’s defensive prowess begins to wane in the latter stanzas and Tiger finds his target more and more often, with solid counters.
Good luck getting a decision against that guy, though. The boxing establishment seems to love them some Canelo. Very well-connected.
I like Tiger by the narrowest 7-5 type decision. Canelo has decent skill and his counterpunching will make this very competitive. I also think he showed/proved good durability against GGG (regardless of how you feel about the decisions), and don’t think Tiger stops him (although that wouldn’t shock me). I struggle imagining modern guys in 15 rounders. To me many guys looked great and folded in those championship rounds, while others looked solid but had special stamina and flourished there...to much of an unknown to know how a guy will adapt and translate there, without actually knowing.
