What will fighting this guys tell us about Towers and his progression, to me it seems a pointless fight other than keeping active, at least fight someone with a bit of a record of wins.

    Live Undercard
Richard Towers (12-0) vs Harold Sconiers (18-23)
    Non-title heavyweight bout - 8x3

Sconiers is a decent journeyman and beat Jamell McCline in his last fight. Towers does need to step up after this one though!

Towers' next fight should be a EU title fight.

Towers is good I reckon. He wont go far, but as far as he does go he'll entertain and look good IMO.

Sconiers is garbage but he's a name amongst journeyman, is tough and can check a chin. Hopefully Towers will fight someone of note after this.

Towers has had 12 fights. This fight is a joke. Towers should be placing himself to fight for a country or national title or at the very least area belt.

Sconiers has a few scalps on his record so you never know but fights like this kill the sport. Sconiers should be mixing it with other journeymen and Towers should be mixing it with title contenders. Those 50-50 fights are what would improve both fighters as it would expose their weaknesses. They would also put on much better fights for the fan i.e. Ward vs Gatti is great, Gatti vs DLH is a beatdown.

A joke of a fight, i don't care if his opponent is tough, fighting a guy with a losing losing record at this stage is embarrassing.

    Won't impress anybody.

There was talk about him fighting Fury for that before he pulled out of the Price fight. If Towers gets a shot at Fury within the year I would fancy him to pull of the upset in that and win by KO. Fury would no doubt be the 'home' fighter, but for that reason that would be as close to a 50/50 that can be made despite the bookies no doubt not looking at it that way.

Towers ISN'T as bad as Dallas. He's got a bit of pop and a better chin. He won't ever reach world level, but British belt holder? Sure, he'll get into a few good fights along the way. Can see him beating Skelton/Sprott and even Audley.

I'd say throw Towers in there with a few of the old British guys as mentioned before, McDermott, Sprott, Skelton, Harrison etc etc
