Richard Williams comeback fight will take place at the weekend at the excel on spencer fearons hard knock show, and it's looking like he's opponent is going to be William Joppy the former world champion.

Im glad to see he hasn't been put in against some latvian or bum to just knock over, there both experienced and could be quite a interesting bout.

I went down to rooneys gym to collect tickets from Richard a few weeks back he is looking in great condition and seemed raring to go.

good luck to the secret. :thumbsup

What weight is this at? I know Joppy was fighting at light heavyweight. I presume though he could drop back to Middleweight.

Tough fight for Williams, wouldnt have fancied him with a prime Joppy not so sure about an old Joppy either.

Best of luck to Williams, but I don't like this fight.
Both guys are 41, will this even get sanctioned?

    This is great news!

Richard Williams was a cracking fighter until he ran into that unknown little Argie welterweight fella.

Is Richard a secret again? I remember for a while he wasn't a secret anymore.

If the BBB of C stopped Bugner fighting Welch, they should be looking to do the same here, if the fight is announced.

No, it's just two veterans having a fight. They are the same age.

If Richard was fighting Andre Ward it would be a sick. This is just a couple of small time legends, they earned this, they were good fighters and Richard might have something left.

Might go to this, the skill level will be high. Just a shame there not in there prime.

Hope Richard can get some revenge for Howard against Joppy.

Fair play to both of 'em. Williams is taking the bigger risk but Joppy isn't the most dangerous of fighters, even if he has been active more recently.
