Decent signing in Hitchins but nobody cares about Bumlanga

Does Hitchins actually draw crowds though?

Sounds like we'll start seeing Hitchins being offensive minded more often.

 

Both are a bit of a surprise. Not sure if its a good move for Hitchins, but Berlanga will undoubtedly benefit greatly from this. Zuffa does not put on mismatches, but this means Berlanga wont be fed to world class operators.

Zuffa is essentially Friday Night Fights, and its exactly where Berlanga belongs.

 

Paying top rate for D-grade fighters like Berlanga and Benn, I dread to think who is next and what their strategy is.

 

Zuffa don't do crowds. They are a Paramount/Youtube show.

 

It is way too early to be judging Zuffa when they have only been putting shows on for two and a half months. They can only sign fighters as they become available.

So long as they keep providing us with well-matched fights without unnecessary delays between fights, once a month, I see no reason to diss them.

 

Yeah maybe, but if they had a budget of $15 milion to give one fighter on a one-fight deal, I don't see how Connor Benn is a good choice. Berlanga is another one, he will get embarrassed at world level. If Dana has unlimited cash, they're two bizarre signings. The shows themselves are decent, but the business strategy is definitely odd and deserves some scrutiny, even if it is in the early stages.

 

I really don't care how much it costs them to entertain me.

 

You think that's the long term strategy?

 

I doubt if they know themselves at this stage. As White has said many times already, 'we are literally making this up as we go.'

 

With TKO being involved I can assure you they will want to maximise all avenues of revenue
Crowds will be a big part of the plan

White talks some bollocks so I don't listen to him with much interest
He tells everyone the other promotions have no vision, then tells everyone he is just making it up as he goes along

 

It makes sense but they are making so much from Paramount there's probably no urgency as yet.

 

Disappointing from Hitchins, but he has mentioned wanting to sign with Zuffa in the past. I assume he'll move up to 147, but I think staying with Matchroom would have made it easier to get a title shot against Haney, who he seems to be gunning for. Signing with Zuffa only seems to be limiting his options imo, but we'll see where it ends up. Berlanga is a pretty good fit for Zuffa tho, he'll make for some fun fights when he's not being protected or built up, since he is a genuinely big puncher with a decent bit of heart and sloppy defence.
