I like Richie, does a good job on the commentary, gets his scorecard a bit wrong sometimes. Very decent fighter as well

Seems like a nice person; professionally he comes across as very classy, which is even more amazing for someone with a Dudley accent!;)

But to be serious, as a fighter he was very impressive and thoughtful.

What Brit now a days decides he needs another couple of years as an amateur, after winning an Olympic medal?

As a pro, Woodhall was a steady consistent fighter who was well schooled and could handle himself with anyone at 160/168.

Ring rust cost him a lot against Holmes, but to comeback like he did at 168 was a sign of how good he was.

The Malinga fight was well thought out, and he handled himself like a true pro after the Catley bout.

He showed his will sucking it up in both the Beyer and Calzaghe fights.

As a former pro turned commentator he is better than Barry Stating the bleedin' obvious McGuigan; Glenn Did I mention I sparred a 100 rounds with Tyson? McCrory and Duke cliche McKenzie. And right up there IMO with Jim Watt.

I like Woodhall. But the Dodson/Quigley fight was surreal... I had Quigley FAR behind before the KO.

Just wanted to add my own comments to this thread. I think Richie is fast becoming the best commentator in the game. He's enthusiastic, knowledgeable and good to listen to, what more can you ask for?

Keep up the good work Mr Woodhall.:good

He even limited his quota of "belive you me's" to about 2 last night.

    Truely commendable stuff.

Richie is a credit to the sport.
Lets go easy on these threads though, because one of the most admirable things about him is his complete lack of ego!

he put on a co-commentary masterclass the other night, just little things like pointing out that povetkin was trying to draw estradas lead for counters by fainting sometimes with his feet
