For someone that seems to be fairly articulate and presentable he gives some of the worst bias commentary I've heard in a while . And to give his unofficial score card to Degale shows his transparency. Or is he really that bad? Iv'e noticed a few times now he is terribly bias to the point I really wanted to turn the sound off . I hate bias commentay in favour of the home fighter it's embarrassing.
Completely agree with this. Woodhall was finding any reason to give Degale a round, even if it was a lunging body shot at the end of a round when he had been pummeled in the corner for the two and a half minutes previous. Shocking commentator.
He seems to say the same shite over and over "Degale can switch and doesn't know he does it, same as Selby He says that nearly every time. He is bias towards all the British amateurs he has worked with . Makes me cringe
Agree with original post - Richie seems to have DeGale just nicking every close rounds. They weren't close rounds!! DeGale backing up onto the rope and NOT slipping punches does not win the round. Fair result tonight.
His commentary at the 2012 olympics was painfully biased. He actually had joshua beating both savon and cammarelle. Ridiculous.
Looking back and at the time there was a slight argument he maybe beat Cammerelle, depending on how you viewed the fight. I chose R Cammerelle. Savon Jnr won that first round contest without question......easily won.
Yeah terrible commenting by Woodhall. Did you hear him at the end of one round when Rawling asked how did you score that round and he said 'well there wasn't anything in it so I think we can give James it's lol, was he speaking out loud to how there told to score a fight for the home fighter ?
Amount of times I seen DeGale lunch forward throw a couple of shots miss with both and John Rawling would say excellent work from DeGale there forcing him back ! Was terrible commentary all round
I had Degale take 1st and 2nd and maybe draw 3rd being generous . Possible draw another round. The rest he got smashed
