Fifty year old eighth degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Rickson Gracie has seen his fair share of controversy following his last professional fight in May of 2000.

The mythical submission specialist has claimed to possess a fighting record somewhere in the range of 400-0.

Rickson caught quite a bit of backlash following comments made to Tokyo Sports in which he stated that heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko had “so-so” technical ability.

The native of Brazil recently revealed to The Rio de Janeiro Times that he feels confident that he would come out on top of a match-up between himself and Brock Lesnar or Fedor, regardless of his age or nine year layoff.

However, Rickson does admit that it would likely take him a little bit longer to submit “The Last Emperor”.

“[Brock Lesnar] is impressive as an athlete, but he has holes in his game like anybody else,” said Gracie. “Technically, he is not as good as Fedor.

“It would take me longer to submit Fedor than it would him

“I am not worried about his abilities. Whether he punches at me on the ground or standing, it is only a matter of time. In some ways, it is easier if he tries to punch at me standing. All the simpler to take him down. It ends in an armbar or a strangle regardless”

It seems the Gracies are too arrogant to realize that this sport THEY PIONEERED has passed them by.

the gracies were pioneers. they would be destroyed now, nothing more needs be said. and to think at his age he could win is really out of touch.

then he should take his 58 yrs young ass to dana and tell him he wants a one fight contract to fight brock for the h.w. title and put his money where his big mouth is and step in there with the 6'4 265 lb freakishly fast and strong monster that has dominated randy cotuoure and frank mir and heath herring in back to back to back fights not once in any of those three looking at all beatable and is easily the third best heavyweight in the world by far.if he submits brock then and only then would i even think about the possibilty of him fighting fedor

He makes an interesting point; there are several mathmatical proofs that show some infinities are longer than others.

Maybe the infinity it would take him to submit Fedor would be abstractly longer in theory than the infinity it would take to submit Lesnar.

I understand that but not one of them has any stand up they are way to one dimensional for the current era of MMA. Things have evolved you need to be well rounded these days it is not 1995 anymore.

Don't get me wrong several of the Gracie's are very good at what they do but from a fan perspective their fights are boring as hell.

Do you think they give a ****?

They can fight, their style wins fights. Fighting does not exist to appeal to your artistic sensibilities, it exists to win fights.

The problem of most of the Gracies is they are old, or simply just not good enough at their one dimension; Aoki and Kitaoka are much less well rounded than Royce ever was, and they are legit top 5 LW's.

    :rofl
Thats only if Fedor and Lesnar both took a nap next to him every time they knocked him back out cold, then waited for him to wake up...then maybe he'd hav a chance in doing it in infitity years :deal

Wow, he even thinks he'd be taking Lesnar down. Unreal.
