Simmonds done 800 tickets before having to pull out a fight and I'm sure hundreds still went, Brophy must do 600-800 and he's not even had a title fight yet, Ricky used to do more than both these guys but not so many now

Ok maybe our definition of pulling the crowds is different mate. Pulling 800 is not a big amount in my opinion I'm talking a few thousand. The point I'm getting at anyway is that these guys are not really big names to the public outside of boxing fans in Scotland whereas most people knew who Ricky Burns was.

Charlie Flynn probably has a higher profile to the public than the rest of them already (excluding burns).

Sorry mate but Matty is a bigger ticket seller than Simmons, Matty will fill out a minimum of 1000 for his Scottish Title fight when it happens at the start of next year and if he gets a bigger fight then that could double!!

When was the last time their was a proper good show in Edinburgh? They build it and they will come and this would be the ccase if it was thru there. Glasgow is only 40 miles but it's still a bit to travel have one in edinburger and these boys would sell a lot more

Matty has sold out the Ballroom already mate without a title on the line for a bout against William Warburton. You know me better than to try sell something that isn't correct!!

That bout was his first time topping the bill and he did that easy.

I agree that Stevie should have a show in his home town, just like I would like a show run for Ronnie in Dundee but the problem comes down to the promoter.

If i am correct Stevie has Alex as his manager, just like Ronnie has Tommy as his manager? So really to get shows in their towns they need a promoter to take charge of a show there (in Simmons case Matchroom could step up and try run a show there) but if they don't know the market they might not be willing to take the chance that the show will fail!!

That obviously wouldn't hurt Matchroom on a Sky bill but a small promoter wouldn't want to take the chance of losing thousands just to put a show on outside their comfort zone. I am sure you will know that there is loads of smaller shows that barely wash their face in terms of making any money from a show and that they actually lose money from their promotions regularly.
