I dunno why people are so sure Broner-Burns won't happen. This pre-judging of ducks pisses me off. "He's ducking so and so. He's ducking so and so." He's not ducked until he retires.

Burns has loads of time to slate this fight. Beggining of 2014 is fine with me.

    Any one of these:

    3. Miguel Vazquez
    4. Antonio DeMarco
    5. Richard Abril
    6. Paulus Moses
    7. Raymundo Beltran

    9. Hank Lundy
    10. Sharif Bogere

    Would be fine.

Really, you wanna see a Moses rematch? Wouldn't mind Lundy or Beltran in the US to raise his profile though, wouldn't expect it to be Vasquez if they want Broner in time.

Again, who the **** said it wasn't? I made it clear in my OP that I was referring to Ricky's statement in BN,so why the **** did you feel the need to point out something that everyone already knew?
I don't know if there's a reading comprehension problem with you,but I never said the statement was "news" as you put it.
You ****ed up by trying to take issue with my post, when there was nothing to take issue with.
Take your medicine and move on.

Fair enough then, I can see why you would compare british fighters to his opponents in that case...

I will admit I expected him to have a tough night with Katsidis and probably be beaten, but since then I have never unerestimated him, he's a very good fighter and people only get frustrated because he's fighting fighters he is beyond right now...

Anyone who genuinely expected Mitchell to beat him seriously overestimated Mitchell imo, he's a good fighter sure but Ricky haa already proved he was beyond him imo...

I want to see him fighting the top dogs at 140, the likes of Broner and Vazquez, I want to see him pushed, and I think that's all any genuine boxing fan wants.

Well balanced post Ryan.I think that's all anyone wants.
As for Mitchell, there was a very late swing towards him by many pundits and fans, and Ricky himself told me he expected his toughest night and not to bet on the stoppage:twisted::gsg So we have to be honest about the fact that many picked Mitchell, even if it was late changes of opinion.

Get a grip Fella. I didn't blunder at all....All I did was point out for the purpose of clarity, not just to you but to your wider audience, that what Burns was referring to was said a week before Christmas. Nothing more, and nothing less....You need to show a bit of confidence in yourself, not every comment is a criticism.

No ones jealous mate, just want to see Ricky in big fights. If anything all the slating that Ricky gets on here would be meant to goad him into taking those big fights. Trust me, no ones jealous of Ricky, if anything they're unhappy at him not taking on the big boys when they think he has a good chance at beating them.

Well that last time Billy seemed confident in the opponent, It was Katsidis and Mitchell and they were good names, Moses was ok aswell so it does sound like a decent name is lined up. Time will tell.

Just reading Boxing News. Burns said he didn't take the fight because he would have only 7 weeks preparation instead of his regular 12 weeks. That would normally be fair enough in this day and age but isn't he in relative tip top shape at the mo anyway given the recent cancellations?? I find it hard to defend Burns on this one, especially since Team Burns seem to have had no problems with the purse. Not good at all.
