I remember when he fought Prescott, he was having a little bit of trouble against the tall fighter's jab.

 

Vazquez is better than Broner

 

well height-wise he was having trouble with Prescotts jab

 

I thought the current WBC ruling was you can have a unification with other titlists but after the fight you have to choose between defending the WBC belt or which ever other belts you have.

So if Ricky wins he can either be WBC champ or IBF/WBO champ but not both.:think

Fair play to Burns & VVarren….

If you were prepared to give Brook a pass for avoiding Bradley in favour of the IBF root… You have to do the same for Burns.

If Burns beats Vasquez then he is in pole position for a big pay day against Broner…. Just like Brook @147 if he beats Alexander.

Everyone saying that people will be eating their words and that Billy will be on here gloating etc. are actually wrong for the most part.

Everyone is now actually happy and at least speaking for myself will gladly accept that Burns has pushed for and got the fight his performances deserve. Aside from a few trolls all the baiting was really just out of disappointment that the Broner fight didn't materialise and worry that we were going to end up with another Walsh/Ocampo situation.

Now it's been sorted, hats off to FW for all his faults he has come through, hats off to Billy and WAR RICKY!!

 

Fight should be in Glasgow really, I hope the fans make it like a hometown for Ricky in terms of atmosphere.

Well done to Ricky and his handlers, It's the step up he's needed and a chance to unify the titles. Good luck to him and Billy.

Hopefully if he wins later in year we will still see him vs Broner and he can dictate terms a little more as a unified champion.

 

I think Boxrec finally got something right, this is a five star fight and it's not before time

 

I think when it comes to an international fight like this it could be anywhere in the UK and Ricky will still have huge support. Perhaps Glasgow would be more of an inferno type atmosphere but with this topping the bill and it being a unification fight, there'll be plenty of noise in the arena. Especially if the other Brits do the business in the lead up to the main event, I can NOT wait for this!

 

Any word on the opponent yet?
I'll bet Ricky ducks DeMarco and fights some bum like Vasquez .
