i cant agree with you regarding tommy and alex mate,if it wasnt for alex's hard work behind the scenes ricky fight might not be happening in glasgow and tommy should be praised for the work hes put into scottish boxing.

 

Ricky should be able to win the title. I have no doubt of it. As long as he keeps his distance and moves in and out quickly like he did against the raging bull Gomez. (Ok Martinez is a level above Gomez but you know what I mean)

I think Martinez might surprise a few people and actually box against Burns, instead of being the all-out aggressor that he is perceived as. Make no mistake, Martinez is better than what the Cook fight would suggest.

Having said that, I wish Burns luck :good

 

I'd go for the Travel lodge on hill street. It's cheap, in the city centre and short taxi ride to Kelvin Hall. It's also close to a lot of pubs and clubs.

 

Would love another Brit world champion but Martinez is a lot better now than when he fought Cook. He can box if he needs to but is so much better at dragging opponents into a brawl. I fear he will do that to Burns and if that happens, I unfortunately see a Martinez KO round 6-8

Burns had improved since Carl Johansson beat him, but he still cant punch, is not a particularly great Boxer, not good enough to keep Martinez at bay and pick up rounds anyway, therefore he will most probably bang it out with Rocky, only Rocky is tougher imo, probably hits harder, goes to the body very well, that coupled with the fact Burns fights very squares and has a tendency to shell up and give you both sides of his body, is a recipe for disaster.


The only positive, is that Burns could catch Martinez and hurt him to the body, as Cook managed to hurt him there, plus, Martinez was actually dropped in his last fight, albeit he was not particularly hurt badly, problem with that is, he is like Trinidad, when he gets up he beat living the day lights out of you, which is what he did to his last opponent when he got up, plus, Burns cant really punch imo.

 

That could of been called a foul imo, Burns leaned on him or pushed him into the ropes so he could bang him.
