Ricky Burns forced to fight for world title in Puerto Rico

Good man Billy:good I knew you werent having a go at Rab anyway, was just saying he is a good guy in my opinion, and hope him and Rick see eye to eye one day in the future.

 

To be honest, Im sick of seeing Rab Bannon sob stories here.

Facts are facts, Burns didnt win a thing in the paid ranks under Bannon.

The old guy should get a grip, & instead of being bitter should be shouting from the rooftops about how the barn helped turn Ricky into the champion he is today, I am sick of the 'barn boys' who come on here wishing Burns bad luck cos he went onto better things.

Rab Bannon & The Barn Boys(sounds like a good name for a folk band right there)

I think you need to get your facts straight first Dunky rather than basing your post purely on what you've read on here. He certainly does not need to get a grip and doesn't sit about cursing Ricky Burns, neither do the "Barn boys" for that matter, in fact the majority of the lads down the Barn still go to his fights to support him. Rab has spoke to Ricky on several occasions since he left and been civil to him, so all this stuff about Rab not speaking to him is rubbish. Rab may have bad feelings about the situation but do you really think that you would find many people who wouldn't feel a similar way? Ricky is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and a terrific boxer, he did what he needed to do and I don't think many people can criticise him for it but you also have to look at things from Rab's point of view.

Not often have I disagreed with you on here Dunky but I certainly can't sit back and let you tell a man who's contributed so much to boxing and the community of coatbridge, to get a grip.

 

Aye fair enough I say, I dont think I have ever disagreed with Dunky, but this is the first:yikes No Worries guys, at the end of the day we all want Ricky to do well, so fingers crossed it goes ok over there:good

 

i understand Rab's situation,when kenny anderson left me i was disapointed i put a lot of time and effort into him,kenny wasnt happy so he left thats his desicion i dont think it was the right one but there you go.you have to move on!

 

what factor sun block you gonna be using Billy?

this guy dunky says he is sick of rab bannan,how many times has old rab posted on here,none,what has this arse dunky done for scottish boxing ,**** all but bad mouth other people,get a life,
ive spoken to rab and he hopes ricky comes home with the title,they met not long ago and had a chat and he wishes ricky well,

 

I would like to wish young ricky all the best in his title fight and i agree with mik ricky is a true gentleman in boxing he comes from a very nice family and along with his young brother david i see them both when they where having there first bouts and there last bouts as amatuers i would also think that rab bannon has nothing but pure admiration for ricky and wishes him all the best as i know the man for twenty years and NEVER ever heard him say a bad word about anyone in boxing he always trys to help anyone in boxing he bailed out more amatuer boxing show in the west east and north than any other person in boxing and he should be commended for the work he does for the young people in coatbridge i dont no why him and ricky actually fell out but i been at shows where ricky box at and rab been there supporting him and other boxers he been involved with so to end on a positive note ricky has the temperment to do well abroad as nothing ever bothers him in or out the ring good luck to him and billy and of course his management team

 

Spot on Bill... I for one am backing Burns to come back with that belt!! He's probably the most underatted boxer in Britain right now!! He's improved 10 fold in the last 12-18 months..Billy has really put the work in with him and it's starting show now!!
