So he left VVarren just to get out of the Vasquez fight?

Love the logic that goes into hating Ricky Burns on here.
"Come and fight Broner with half the preparation you're used to even though it will be the toughest fight of your career against a future P4P'r and losing could end your top flight aspirations.
What do you mean no? Clearly a duck.Any belt holder would be happy to fight Broner with 7 weeks notice. No worries,we'll get a real quality guy in for Broner to get a test even though HBO are ramming his ass to have the date filled"

"Have a stay busy fight before Xmas to get you an earner as you don't have HBO making you a millionaire.Pay your own expenses and when the gate and TV money are in,you'll have a nice little festive wage.
Sorry Ricky, but we'll get you the fight with Vasquez so you can be stronger in negotiations with Broner when you win.Trust us.
Look Ricky,it's only a hitch. The money thing was an early April fool thing they do in Mexico.
    Trust us"

"Rickaaaaay. These things happen. You'll get that 12k that we know is a lot of money to you back.Alex knows he can trust us.It'll happen on the 20th.
    Would we let you down?"

And from this, the intellectual mecca of ESB has someone deducing that Ricky has pulled all this because he's scared of Vasquez, whilst Broner fights Rees and we're hearing Malignaggi.
Why not wait to see what happens here and make an offer for Ricky to sign with GBPUK?

Boxing fights get made and then get postponed or outright cancelled, it is a routine thing nowadays, unfortunately. The only way I can see Burns breaking cleanly from ****** is if it turns out Vasquez had never actually signed for the fight, which seems ludicrous given that Burns had been going through a full camp. If contracts WERE signed by both parties, Burns is in for a long, and potentially expensive legal battle.

On another note, if Burns IS free to sign elsewhere, it would be interesting to see with whom he signs. If he really wants to make a legacy for himself, or has any plans to move up from 135, he'd be best off to sign with GBP, who would help him gain traction with American audiences, and get him much bigger fights than he would get if he stayed in Scotland.

GBP should sign him up and make the Broner fight happen.

If he comes to America he is getting knocked out. Just like Hatton did just like Khan did.

    Yep :good

Ricky said it himself actually, that the only reason the fight never happened was due to lack of time to prepare. And rightly so in my opinion.

then why is he leaving a promoter who has a history of not giving his stable big fights?

I think you answered your own question there!

Also, he is probably sick of getting messed about to be honest mate. i don't blame him one bit. This **** with Vasquez is probably the straw that broke the camel's back.

??? When did he actually fight the best? Ricky Burns got by fightin shams. When he actually does fight the best then I'll take my hat off untill then he's nothing but over-hyped. The same level as Cleverly.
