I can't watch right now because I'm using my phone, but anyone calling a proven fighter or anyone who steps in the ring for that matter a coward doesn't deserve the extra views on their uploads.
And although I think Rees is a solid opponent, he's no better than most of Ricky's opponents at world title level.
    And I did say "most"

No fighter is a coward. Burns's team are just being smart really but unfortuntaely it isn't doing their image any good and it's difficult to stick up for fighters turning down big fights, even if it is understandable. Burns may have a chance against Broner but then he might also take a pasting, and if that's gonna happen then he wants to get as well paid as possible. The problem is that ain't gonna happen under his present promotional circumstances so Team Burns just have to live with their PR own goal in the meantime. Nelson isn't usually slow to stick up for Burns on here but it's been noticeable he's had to take this one on the chin.

Seems like two people who are trying to make some controversary to get themselves noticed, calling a boxer a coward is the wrong thing to say unless uve got the bollocks to say it to his face. On the subject of stupid things, i just read an article where it said that Junior Witter and Matthew Hatton should have a fight cos the fans want it... :patsch

Gents. All this outrage about 1 line or 2 from them calling burns a coward.

It is wrong, but its no more outrageous than calling a fighter a bum - and that doesn't seem to get the same reaction.

I think sports fans just tend to say stupid over-exaggerated, biased things in general without necessarily meaning it.
Because those guys are smug Americans just seems to give everyone the green card to pile in.

Said it before. Ricky Burns is a nobody in the big time. They looking down on him from above, he aint getting the opportunity to fight at the level, therefore he will remain right where he is in pedigree and boxing esteem, I'm blunt and cold, but I speak the truth.

They see Ricky Burns as a small time domestic fighter at the moment.

It's hard to argue against it. The facts lie on paper, at this weight, Ricky Burns has not fought high caliber opposition, He hasn't fought at Broner level, he hasnt fought a Vazquez, or Abril.

We know how the yanks are, and they look down on this nobody from "Scotland?"

    Scotland? Where's Scotland!?!

I aint talking ****, your here again to try and balance the washing line. Whenever I say something your all over it, I know your game now Billy lad. :hey

Ricky Burns has fought NOBODY at this weight. You could make an argument for Katsidis I suppose, but its obvious he is on the decline. But before he fought your boy at Lightweight, he had been in there with top opposition. But I fail to see what that actually does for Ricky Burns? It does something for Katsidis, but f*ck all for Ricky.

Ricky aint fought anyone like Marquez or Guerrero. Just look at Katsidis resume. That makes Katsidis a legit fighter, but how does that make Ricky the same?

Ricky NEEDS those fights now....or are you gonna duck that fact like you duck pressing questions? You only answer certain things, and its normally criticism of your fighter. Anything about the crap promotion or matchmaking and its hush hush from the Nelsonator. :good

IF your man ever gets the Broner fight, thats IF that fight ever happens. You will be humbled billy bongos. Now come here and gis a new year kiss ya big softy!
