Billy with Ricky now not being a W.C and not rankked in the IBF top 15 does that not create an issue making the vasquez fight ??

Well who has Mitchell beat to be ranked in the top 15 of the IBF rankings then? Nobody with a ranking that's who!
The only reason Mitchell got ranked is because Hearn got him one of they IBF baubles - Fact.
To be honest Mitchell never deserved the Vasquez fight in the first place, so maybe it's for the best.

Anyway Hearn can now concentrate on straightening his priority's out and get Ricky Burns a world title shot because he's the best and only world class lightweight in Britain - Another fact.

It was only a thought,I wouldn't see how it would be an issue if it were a voluntary

Would the IBF allow him to defend against someone outside of the top 15? I guess Ricky was a world champion one fight ago, plus that lucrative 3% of a Burns Glasgow show may help them change their mind...

I would guess it to be possible, because Vazquez will see it as a winnable and well paying fight, against a fighter who has i'm sure you will agree, not been at his best for a few fights now...

Who stylistically would you like to see Burns against? I am going to guess it isn't a slick counter puncher.

Vasquez, Abril and Figeroua are all winnable fights for Ricky imo

You also said you'd beat Crawford so I'd take what you say with a massive pinch of salt.

Vazquez is an absolute nightmare for Burns. He should take the fight and try and prove what would probably be about 95% of boxing fans wrong. The other 5% is 99.9% Billy Nelson

I'm a big fan of Burns but I'm a realist and my **** that **** Vaquez will give him fits. No way he stops Burns though. Burns is proven NAILS.

When ricky said to eddie hearn he wants to carry on fighting for another 10 years I thought well you better up your game or eddie won't hang on to dead wood. I agree Ricky's looked foul on his last few outings.

I can't see the logic behind Ricky chasing a world title fight against a tough opponent for his next fight. I also wonder if Ricky could do with a decent rest before his next fight. He's had a tough run.

Does he need the money or something?

He had a forced rest between Mitchell and Gonzalez and look where that got him, Ricky IMO is the kinda guy who needs to keep busy and take advantage of momentum he had great momentum going after stopping Mitchell but that was stopped when he was messed about in the months after that.

 You on the wind up?

You could say that about any fighter + trainer that ever said they were going to win a fight then lost.

Hatton: "Put your mortgage on me beating Manny" springs to mind..
