Great fight. Martinez looked good but it seems he overworked himself in those early rounds, still he remained dangerous the entire fight!

I'm in exactly the same position. I thought the odds on a Martinez KO were too good to be true but that was worth losing money for.

 

You wouldn't think ke's got such a low KO rate when you see him. Martinez was hurt a few times, mostly with that uppercut.

Yeah it was sweet. He throws it very quick, perfect form, turns his body, and follows through every time. A real joy to watch. On one of the slo-mo instant replay Burns hit Martinez with one of the many flush uppercuts would totally rubberize and deform his face, some funny ****.

well done ricky burns, i heard the result on radio 5 live in the uk. they said burns had recovered from a first round "knockout" to take the title, without saying if he won by stoppage or points. respect.

 

Someone has changed their tune. This is what you said when he won.

I caught the championship rounds and saw the highlights SKY showed of rounds 1-9.

It was a good showing by Burns (although a bit sloppy toward the end). He really tried to end it but Martinez just wouldn't go away.
