    Not really no, but they're already selling his story so people who don't even watch the fight know his name and a little bit about him.

    Then he wins, and for his next fight people see his name again and remember hearing about him before and before long they think they know him.

    So this week you'll have millions of people hearing about Ricky Burns and not a peep about Carl Froch.

    Mad innit !?

    Gonna be interesting to see what Sky say on next week's 'Ringside'. Surely they'll have to at least mention Froch's win and performance as well as Marquez against Katsidis. It'll probably be mentioned briefly by Ed Robinson.

    It is at least good that they're promoting Ricky Burns though and even though on paper it's an easy defence, it was still one of the best boxing nights this year when he beat Martinez.

    I thought it was 'convenient' they slotted the Lennox Lewis interview in this week to avoid having to mention Froch v Abraham. As you say, I bet it'll get a passing mention, not much more. The Lewis episode could have been used the thursday before christmas or something, when there is no boxing that weekend.

    did anyone feel that the chants of the burns supporters at the gomez fight were in very bad taste? if gomez had been black or asian there would have been uproar.

    Didn't hear any offensive songs at the Gomez fight but plenty of republican songs at Kelvin Hall, I wouldnt expect any better from dwellers of Coatbridge though.

    didn't hear about that mate but i'll take your word for it. if something is offensive then its out of order and doesn't belong in boxing no matter who the target it is.

    by the way the chant at the gomez fight was;

    "were's your caravan" as gomez entered the ring

    Should have been at Scotstoun Leisure centre on Saturday... Most of the crowd didn't know what was going on and it was hard to enjoy the fights with all the shouting/abuse by pissed and/or high neds who were sitting behind me.

    When they did shut up, there was the sound of a buckfast bottle being rolled back and forth on the ground between them. My mate who was with me had never been to live boxing before, and he vowed to never go again

    Andreas Evensen. Even though I´ve seen Andreas fights couple of times and like the guy, this feels more like a stay-busy bout for Burns. Evensen have fought so many times in Helsinki that it feels like he´s one of our own. I hope that Andreas wins but the odds are in Burns favor.
