I would be shocked if he got less than 100k for a world title fight if it went to purse bids.

 

I just boxrec'd him . 16 16 ko's and 2 losses 1 to Funeka and 1 to Burns.

Funeka's a decent opponent .According to boxrec he's had 2 majority decisions . 1 to Yakubu Amidu which he won and his last fight a draw with Joan Guzman and Burns stopped Yakubu Amidu in 7.

 

i could become a pro and fight manny pacquaio and floyd mayweather and run around the ring for 12 rounds not getting stopped. doesnt make me a good fighter.

 

:lol. i see what you are saying but i don't think most would agree they could go 12 with pac and floyd even if they ran around the ring trying to survive.

 

If you could go 12 rounds with Pacman whilst holding a baseball bat I'd bite my own **** off. You dont do 12 rounds with him and Mayweather without being a good fighter

 

Ricky should'nt turn down the opportunity, should be thinking like Jennings against Cotto, youve got to take the chance if he gets beat he can bounce back if he wins there's bigger pay days in the future.

Look at Buchanan winning the title against Laguna in Puerto Rico and Stracey beating Napoles in Mexico sometimes its worthwhile taking the risk.

 

He didnt turn down the opportunity, his guys think they can get the fight over here instead and with better money. 50K for a world title fight aint big bucks, some british title fights go for more than that, and you dont have to travel half way round the world

 

rob id love to know were you get your numbers for potential purse bids? we will find out within 2 weeks were and when the fight will take place.

 

Come on Billy your not telling me that it would be as low as 50k for a world title fight are you, I know some guys that fought for british titles and were nearly on that! Although Burns beng the challenger, I would expect a 70-30 split I suppose?!?
