That's his job mate, everythin else comes with the territory billy knows that. Ricky had raw talent you say yourself so why wudnt anyone else have took that on that talent. Love billy amd appreciate all hes done for team burns and Coatbrig but to say ricky wud have been workin in a shop to feed the family is a lot a pish

  3. Yep

Total bollocks,Ricky performs in the ring and would still be a championship level fighter.

Good luck for Saturday Billy. I'm looking forward to seeing Ricky's performance.

I watched the head to head earlier and I was also present at the weigh in when he fought Gonzales...no way is Ricky 5 10"?!

Coatbridge has produce a few greats never mind Scotland. He might achieve more than some, but as a nation he will be much lower on the list of Greats. Again he is a good lad and Best of Luck to him.

Morrison wasn't too happy with Eddie for spouting that 'best ever Scottish boxer' guff

Obviously Eddie is still trying to shift a few tickets for Saturday.

That's not true at all, Alex believes that Ricky more than deserves to have his place at the top and there's more to come

There's 50 boxers in each weight division that have the talent to go all the way but it's World class trainers like Billy Nelson that make the difference between someone being an 'Coulda been' to a two weight world champion.

Billy is at the top of his game at the moment and for the job he's done making Ricky Burns into a 2 weight world champion should put him in the Top 10 active Trainers in world Boxing at the moment. It's a shame he dosen't open up a Boxing gym like Freddie Roach's 'Wildcard Gym' in Scotland as all the best prospects would go there.

Top 10 current World Boxing Trainers

    1. Nacho Beristein
    2. Floyd Mayweather Sr
    3. Freddy Roach
    4. Virgil Hunter
    5. Ronnie Shields
    6. Robert Garcia
    7. Nazim Richardson
    8. Pablo Sarmiento
    9. Billy Nelson

If Billy is on Joe G should be on regardless of world champs/lack of. Both are a credit to the sport however

No. He's pulled out due to a family illness.

Billy does have a gym mate, the Fighting Scots Gym in Bellshill.
