Lopez KO within 3 rounds.

I wonder how much he dud struggle to make weight? He looks huge in between fights. Arum said he weighs 180-190 which I doubt is true but he's still huge for a guy who fights at his weight class. After the Gamboa fight, he got into the ring and he looked like a welterweight and he would have been training then too.

 

Wouldn't be shocked if Arum comes in with an offer for that fight in the fall.

Arums standard response for his name fighters coming of a loss is a move up in weight followed straight into a title fight agaisnt a lower level fighter.

 

Why is it everytime that a decent fight gets made on here for Ricky Burns almost everyone comes on here and says why he will get beat...:yep It's getting a bit boring now...:zzz

Say what you want but that version of Lopez on Saturday loses to Ricky Burns , i truly beleive that .

Lopez at his very best IMO could be another story

Salido is a quality operator. Depending on what you think of PHDs, he has a win against Guerrero, as well as going the distance with JMM and giving Gamboa a good go (a lackluster Gamboa?) and Lopez just isn't that good. Hence why someone of Salidos level was able to batter him.

JuanMa would probably still beat Burns. He's still a cut above Martinez.

Gamboa should either fight John (if the Indo is well enough) or move up to 130 and destroy everyone there. **** JuanMa, move up to 135lbs 'cause that is the only weight class where anyone will seriously challenge Yuriorkis.

Although I'd be much more happy to see him stick around at 126 for five years and beat every contender.

 

I think we see a more determined and focused Lopez win a rematch this year.

 

I rate Salido but I think Juanma has looked as if he is going off the boil for quite sometime now and his stamina looks quite iffy (I think he's only done 12 rounds once iirc)


Juanma has always had that ferocious power to help him out but its certainly not as good at fw as it was at sbw and at sfw it would be average imo. Plus we know all too well at how blowing up and down in weight can affect a fighter and shorten the length of their careers. I was quite near ringside for the Juanma v Mtwaga fight and couldnt believe hos ****ed he was at the end of that fight....he was out on his feet.

The Gamboa fight should have happened a couple of years back when at the time would have been a 50/50 fight but now it seems Juanma would be taken out in 6 imo.

 

JuanMa just ain't that good IMO. Focus and 'proper' preperation won't make up for how open and slow he is.

Gamboa, as I've been saying for years, would starch him inside 3 rounds.

 

A bit off topic, but I'd agree with Rob that people are generally underrating Salido here. He's not just some face-first brawler, he's much more intelligent in the way he pressures than he's given credit for. Even in his fight with Gamboa, I don't think it's a coincidence that that fight was the first he's looked troubled in since picking up a ''world'' title. His record may suggest otherwise, but he's a quality fighter, and a smarter fighter than it appears on the surface., with an awful lot of that sterotypical Mexican warrior mentality to go with it.

 

Salido is a good fighter with good wins. He knows how to rough it up. Shows how good JMM is.

 

And Cristobal Cruz, another very underrated/unknown quantity.
