Hope Burns wins cause he has been well and truly shafted

Defending his title and beating some decent fighters along the way isnt going to keep him warm at night. If he could win and get some pay days that would be good - seems a genuine nice lad

BUT he has looked pretty dire since the Gonzales fight OK we know how tuff he was to fight on with the jaw break but his style has always been a bit basic and if his punch resistance has gone i dont see him having long left..maybe he would have to do an Enzo Mac and work his way back up from domestic level but that seems a hell of a slog

Beltran took Burns' soul, then Crawford took his belt. I can see Figueroa putting an almighty beating on Burns tomorrow night, may God have mercy on him.

Omar may not be a p4p star but he is fun to watch and comes forward relentlessly and hits hard, i think he will batter and stop ricky late

    A 'bit basic'? It's f*cking beyond basic. It's terrible.

Very poor form from yet another fighter to miss weight. This is Not a title fight but in future they do need to start being stricter especially with world title fights

Exactly, I'd imagine he would have to pay Burns a small percentage of his purse. They need to be more strict, they should lose 50% of their purse imo.

Even in Ricky's prime, I wouldn't have seen him making much noise at light-welter, I can't see him doing it now. Ricky's been brought over to make Omar look good and that's just how I see it going. Wide UD Figueroa.

Normally in this circumstance I'd advise Ricky work the body. Assuming Figueroa struggled to make the weight he would in theory be susceptible to the body attack. But Figueroa looks like he didn't even try to make weight, poor poor show, I would love Burns to batter him.

Very good post, but i think Rickys lost his fire.

I'd love to be proved wrong though.

Maybe fig did not even train much and was busy partying in which cas a focused burns has a chance is he can get past the first four rounds. If fig didnt train much he may go all out in the first few rounds for a stoppage as he knows his tank is limited and if burns can survive he may take over from a gassed fig and get a decision.
