Are they going to interview Gonzlez, or are they going to just pretend that Ricky somehow broke him down during the fight?
It was the one emoticon. Meant to put this one. :thumbsup Any good amateurs from the ones you saw today?
Gonzalez dominated the early rounds, so much so that he was up at least 5 round to 1 after the first 6 - if he hadn't won the first 6 entirely. He thought he had Burns in the 7th and threw too much into trying to get the KO and gassed himself and it was all down hill from there. If Gonzalez had just kept to his gameplan from the early rounds and not gone for the KO it would not have surprised me if he had won by UD but he went for the KO and didn't have the conditioning to recover afterwards while Burns withstood the offense and had the conditioning to come out of it stronger.
He was in full control. Ricky was hopeless. He won all of the first 7 rounds, but the idiot expended so much energy trying to finish him off after having him hurt. He punched himself out and had to take the next two rounds off which allowed Burns to win them by default. Then he just quits on his tool citing a broken wrist. But what the ****, man. The world title was in his hands and all he had to do was run for the remainder, because Burns was still just hitting thin air for the most part. Gonzalez basically handed the title back into his hands for free.
Burns dug deep there and showed great spirit, and I'm not buying the wrist excuse, Gonsalez was done.
Burns got lucky. Very, VERY lucky. But those dissing him can go **** themselves. Show some respect for someone who dares to step into the ring and lead the regimented lifestyle that being a boxer needs. Arseholes.
