Yes, he did. The closest round was probably the first, but I gave that to Gonzalez for the cleaner shots. From there on he took full control. Only after the 7th -- where he punched himself out -- did he allow Burns back in it to take the 8th and 9th.
Unlucky for Gonzalez if he did break his wrist but he was so far ahead on points he could have given away the last 3 rds and still scraped a win or at least a draw as long as he didn't get any 10-8s against him. I had him 4 points up. Burns really struggled vs someone who he couldn't impose his size and reach on but he showed unbelievable heart and chin to make it through the 7th.
In all honesty, that has to be one of the worst quit-jobs in recent years, if not of all time. If he isn't really injured then Gonzalez should be ashamed of himself.
I had it 6-3, 6-1, before the guy gassed out, even if he didnt quit, he would have been stopped in my opinion
your right about burns showing heart but if he didnt quit burns was well beaten, we'll have to see if there was an injury
He was not even taking huge shots... Burns hardly landed anything big... Gonzalez would have won easy with more experience at world level!
