I don't think it's a certainty that Burns would have beaten him if he continued. All he, Gonzalez, had to do was get on his bike. Even in those 8th and 9th rounds where he was out of it, he was still making Burns miss most of his shots. It's not like the 10th, 11th and 12th would have been rounds where he'd be taking punishment. He just would have been made to work hard by having to move around the ring. That's something he should have at least tried to do, in my opinion. Especially seeing as though he had that world title in his hands!

But I guess it's easier to say sitting from here.

Burns would have not won if he was 7:0 behind wich many people here thought.

    Option B.

Schooled? Gonzalez tried to run and protect his hand for two rounds and Burns landed just about nothing, certainly nothing hurtful. Can't give Gonzalez those rounds obviously, but it was Burns getting schooled from beginning to end. Couldn't even track the guy down when he wasn't returning fire.

I answered this in another thread, but you can run his name in a youtube search and you'll see at least 3 fights where he fought the exact same as tonight. He was never a come-forward brawler so stop making excuses for Burns. He got his ass whipped by a much better fighter.

Started really well, both guys were tired down the stretch. I had it a draw but Simpson winning isn't unfair. It was a brutal start by Choi though, just battered his body.

:deal Like I said in another thread, Gonzalez didn't just pull those skills out of his ass at the last minute. He's always had them and Burns' lot would have been aware. They just had no answer for them.

It was basically what my fight night champion games looks like.

Other guy picks Tyson, I use Holyfield (always)

    - Guy kicks my ass, crazy uppercuts, body shots, switching stances, big haymakers landing for 3 or 4 rounds. I offer jabs and right hands in return mixing the head and body

    - Tyson gasses out trying for a KO, Holyfield turns it on, combos to the head and body either force the 10 count or a rage quit.

thats not my point my point was for ppl who thought that burns could beat broner they will be seconded guessing that thought now i feel that broner could make burns look very poor just as gonzalez did in the early rounds tonight i also think tonight shows that burns is not as good as ppl think and that broner is a level above him ,,,,

What about the part where Tyson injures himself and Holyfield still can't land a punch, then Tyson quits?

It was all totally planned by Burns to let Gonzalez break his wrist on his face.

Lol this forum is ****ed up sometimes. Burns was up and ready to fight and Gonzalez couldn't get off his stool. Burns has the heart of a champion and Gonzalez doesn't. People talking like Gonzalez got robbed or something.

Gonzalez was 87 - 84 ahead on all official scorecards. Unless Burns got 10 - 8 rounds the best he would have got is a draw.

Burns deserves props for his determination and endurance. But he also got a bit lucky tonight.

If what you say is true, Burns should fire his trainer for lack of ability to use youtube. Here, let me help you not be ******ed:

    [yt]Ln2uveBGLAc[/yt]

    [yt]fpHbPPGcemU[/yt]

    [yt]1VNEcJWWNrs[/yt]

    [yt]oCIK0Z77PE4[/yt]

I swear to god, between Donaire and now Burns...I should rent my research skills out to some of these clueless trainers. Seriously. Do your ****ing job, dumbasses.

Ricky Burns doesn't deserve any credit. Burns didn't win the fight. Gonzalez beat himself.
