My gut feeling is a late stoppage but can you tell me what Ricky's predicting so I can bet the opposite Billy?
He told me he would beat Mitchell on points and I went quite heavy on it.A good win here would let me claw back some of the money I lost paying to go to the Vasquez fight.
What's the score Billy? What is your boy predicting?

Had a dream last night Ricky Burns stops Jose Gonzalez in round 2 with a right hook to the body around the corner, Gonzalez wide open for it. Jose Gonzalez is rolling around in agony and doesn't make the count. :think

Can't see Gonzalez providing to much problem, and for once I agree with Craney I think it will be a body shot that begins the end.

    Good Luck Ricky and Billy.

I wish you luck, May whatever Gods guard againt Cuts, shite reffing, shite judging and injuries keep a watchful I on the Rickster. (and Gonzalez for that matter as I wanna see a fight).

Iv'e seen some **** predictions for this on youtube. It seems some people think Burns is just a slugger with no technical boxing skills. One of the guys saying this was British as well :patsch

Well Gonzalez is a 'cutter' by which i mean he dosen't have knockout power but because of the angles he throws his punches they tend to cut his opponents to shreds so i just hope you've brought in a good cutman for this fight incase he's needed.

If each man gives their best tonight then i only see GONZALEZ winning via corner stoppage due to cuts or points even though if it's close Burns will get a hometown decision.

Having said that GONZALEZ may just freeze on the big stage especially as this is his first fight outside of Puerto Rico, some boxers rise to the occasion and others under-perform. Also this is by far his hardest opponent of his career so again the step up in level may be a problem for him even though i still think he'll win by stoppage if he's focused and mentally right for the fight.

One last thing Billy, i regard you amongst the Top 3 current boxing trainers in the UK for the job you've done with Ricky which has been nothing short of a brilliant especially as you didn't have a fighter who anyone really cared about or expected anything from. Hell Ricky should have a picture of you by his bedside just to remind him how you've saved his career.

Anyway good luck tonight and prove me wrong. I know you'll have prepared the best version of Ricky possible to put in a great performance and get the win.

Had a feeling for a while that Gonzalez wins this by stoppage.

He looks just as big as Ricky at the weight, he's got those long arms & he can bang from the footage Ive seen on youtube.

Hope I'm wrong because Ricky is perhaps the nicest guy in British boxing

    Agreed.

When i saw them both facing off against each other and GONZALEZ was taller in height, bigger reach and muscle definition i knew then Burns was in big trouble. There's no doubt one of Ricky's big advantages in previous fights has been his size advantage over his opponents which he won't have in this fight.

Sometimes you see boxers from PR and South America with unbeaten records and a high KO percentage who turn out to be bums on the world stage but occasionally there's the likes of a Maidana or Matthysse who are the real deal and i think Gonzalez will prove to be a hidden gem too and do a number on Ricky.

Looking forward to this one as it gets closer had a feeling for the past few days that Ricky will win between round 7 and 10 after breaking Gonzalez down for the first half of the fight.

Good luck tonight Billy will be there in the arena to support Ricky.

Gonzalez was standing on his tip toes in his trainers in the stare down.

This fight gives me a Bradley/Witter vibe. It's never high KO ratios that are interesting in unbeaten opponents. It's the fact he seems to lose very few rounds en route to victory. That as well as the footage of him tells me this guy is not to be slept on.

Having said that, I expect Burns to win via decision.
