He probably will Billy but Layera? Really? What happened to Ricky needing a test to be seen at his best? Appleby smashed by Lindsay was bad enough but this. WOW its awful. well done to John and yourself by the way great performance thought he was close to stopping Lindsay. If you can stop Smith holdding and falling in I think you'll beat him as well

I understand Billy's point, but cherrypicking weak opponents for voluntary defences was Martinez's choice.

We expect better of our fighters, and I expect Burns to face top 10 contenders (genuine ones) at all times.

You can't call yourself a world champion and face non-world class fighters. One easy defence, fair enough.

But we don't want the bum of the month club or a repeat of the Warren Boxing Union days.

How much roughly do you think Burns will make for a defense?

**** fight. Frank knows Burns is a weak champion and probably just wants to milk it for a bit of cash...

Why do you keep bringing up Martinez' defences? Just because Martinez fought poor opposition, doesn't excuse Burns doing exactly the same. Evensen was bad enough, this is even worse. I'm sure there's better opponents out there willing to take the fight than Laryea. Joke of a fight.

He's fighting in a division that is thread-bare with talent as it is, and yet still isn't even taking on top 10/15 opposition. Are you not worried about him stagnating fighting this type of opposition? As his trainer, do you not have any input in who he fights? Does he not have any input? He's letting everybody down.

Martinez defence's where **** but they where leagues above Laryea. I honestly think if Jospeh Laryea got a title shot that he would be the worst and least deserving world title challenger in recent years and in this day and age that is saying an awful lot.

The man is a decent 'Afrobum' but a 'World title' challenger, this just re-affirms my lack of faith in the titles.

Uchiyama Vs Burns or nothing :deal Is Takashi still fighting Solis or not?!?! I've been out of the game a week./

Martinez was awful anyway, I said this beforehand. Ricky is a really hard worker, but this is hardly a below-average 130lb era, let alone a half-decent one.

Gamboa could smash Burns inside a round, as much as I like Uchiyama, he'd annihilate him as well. Awful division at the mo', though I love Rickys work ethic and determination.

Ricky doesnt dictate who he fights, but i do know hed fight anyone including Martinez.maybe you want it a bit more than others nutjob? Ricky wants a unification fight with fana and become the first scottish fighter to unifiy titles and he will!
