Agree moog Ricky has done tremendous well with limited abilities him bn worked great together but at this weight this stage his career can only see one winner.
Ricky would win fights on sheer will and heart but technically he's no where near Taylor.

A fancied Taylor win last night but on points a was impressed he took a shot well but more impressed how often he made Davies miss. And how accurate he was class act. Scotland has a star making if he can keep it up and what a result for mcgugans they will be able put shows up here around him

If Ricky is serious about winning this fight he needs to get his arse back to the fighting Scots Billy!!

No he won't be trained by myself again mate, he did mention coming back 18 months ago but after Mitchell and Campbell lost on the same night he decided to stay in London, make your bed you lie in it

Nah, I've no interest in watching Ricky getting punched to bits by Taylor. Coyle would be a good fight for him, then Crolla if he wins that. I'm not sure at all he beats Crolla at this stage, but he'd at least be competitive in the fight. Money wise he needs to keep fighting, which is a shame.

Good to see one being objective and not scared to tell the truth

His career has went deep South ever since he left the man who helped him to his greatest moments.

Winning titles from Michelle Di Rocco types do nothing to hide the decline that all fans can clearly see.

    Ungrateful cant in my book

As someone said in thread great chance for McGuigans to build shows on back of Taylor, could do worse than do deals to promote or co promote Brophy Simmons Easton Ham etc and then you could do shows in venues from the size of meadowbank through to Hydro depending on the bill.

Ricky should stay away from this fight. Nothing to hurt Josh with, take the Crolla fight earn some more cash & retire happy. I'm leaning towards Taylor stopping Ricky. But before hyperbole takes over, I would still leave it 4-5 fights before moving in to world class opposition. I like the Robbie Davies jnr & winner of Nurse/Catterall fights & then Yigit for European if possible.

I think Josh Taylor looked special last night, obviously As one would expect he has a lot to work on but to be of the standard he is after so little pro fights is very rare in the Britain. I would box higher end of British /Euro level for a couple of fights then world level and then world title fight. Could Josh Taylor win world title next ? Would have a good chance imo but if he waits a little, he will have a great chance and after he reaches that level harder to drop back down. Looks a special box/fighter though and it's great news for Scottish boxing in particular and British boxing as a whole.

Shouldn't be but with adrenaline of big win and many calling for it I wouldn't be surprised if he goes quick route to World titles.

I think Burns v Taylor would be sad. Ricky has not really been good for almost 5 years. The wars have caught up. Although I can see their point of view, I would not overly respect Taylor's camp for taking it.

Burns is pretty much done imo, this wouldn't be a good fight for him at all.
