I hope Burns loses. Nothing personal against him but his last fight was a poor decision so he shouldn't even be here.

    This is an odd argument.

You hope he loses because you didn't agree with the last decision.

Shouldn't you be arguing for the correct decision in this next fight?

The logical conclusion of your argument is that you'd want another (in your opinion) wrong decision if Burns (universally agreed) wins by wide UD?

In your mind two wrongs make a right do they?

I like Ricky, surprised he is still doing so well. Not the most talented but is very effective with the tools he has, also is a warrior.

I hope he wins, then gets a big money fight say against Broner or even Manny is a slight possibility.

In an ideal world if all this falls into place, I would like to see Burns retire. He has been great for Scottish boxing but I do not want to see him showing punch drunk symptoms down the line.

    All the best Ricky

What? I didn't say I wanted the wrong decision in his next fight. I just said I want him to lose because the last guy he fought got jobbed. If Burns wins the fight and deserves too then I won't complain but I still hope he loses

Yeah but it just shows you how little titles mean in this day and age when someone who is clearly past their best and has already been soundly defeated by another fighter in his division looks like he might become that same division's unified champ.

I've got nothing against Ricky but it just shows you the power of having the right promoter is arguably more of an issue now in the alphabet soup era than ever before.

As a matter of interest how did you score the Relikh fight if, in your opinion, it was a j(r)obbery?

I thought Burns won the Relikh fight and I hope he wins this one. But I understand where he's coming from. He must think Burns is lucky and undeserving of still being champ and wants that righted, maybe in a fair loss. I feel the same in a way about McDonnell who got a gift in Monaco.

Ah I can't remember exactly, I think I had Burns losing by 3 rounds. So maybe robbery is the wrong word but I think he was jobbed on the cards. Some lovely home cooking.

The scorecards were too wide, but he won by 2 rounds on my card and no one went around shouting robbery.

No one on the TV did, no but quite a lot of people thought he lost that. Or it certainly felt that way on Twitter anyways

    Fair enough.

I was at the fight and scored it, on the night, the same as the two judges that had it 116-112, so I was annoyed when you (and truthfully a lot of others) used the word "robbery" but fair enough if you had it 113-115 ish then we're agreed that's not a robbery.

I do agree that Burns has had some fortuitous scoring, especially the Beltran fight but I'm sure you'll agree that this is the same for home fighters throughout the world and probably always has been.

It is, or usually for the promotion's fighter at least but it's hard not to be annoyed by it each time it happens. I felt the same with the McDonell fight and even the scoring of GGG-Brook

I'd also say that I'm a fan of Indongo's, not just because of his outstanding KO win in hostile territory whilst being set up as a lamb to the slaughter but more childishly because his name reminds me the drink Um Bongo. Indongo, Indongo...
