If Burns keeps developing that jab the way he has been mitchell will be beaten 120-108. burns too smart too make it a shootout with him and mitchell doesnt have a) the footwork to get inside b) the inside game to punish burns when hes there.

decent fight though, bit harsh referring to it as a mismatch

I don't know if I would call it a mismatch. Burns should whip him but Mitchell can cause him problems with the hook if Ricky gets careless especially if he is "properly prepared.":nut
Unfortunately for Kevin, Ricky doesn't get careless too often and I see Burns breaking him down in the 2nd half with Mitchell getting stopped after failing to defend himself against the ropes.

he did look class. he was biding his time and wearing him out. he new he couldnt just blast him out early so he let murray get a few shots off and exert energy. it was a great performance. mitchel has good movement, good power, good speed and he has every punch in the book. his only bad performance was against katsidis. other than that he's been good. especially his last few fights against mendoza, prescott and murray.

See theres 2 sides to every story mate.Mark Tibbs stated that Kevin got the better of the sparring when at least 40-60 others in the gym would tell completly diffrently,im only standing up for my boxer.Anyway mate Ricky will beat Kevin in every department and team Mitchell know it,i know you wont be happy with my comment but its whats going to happen!

Lora is nowhere near world level and made Kevin look very ordinary on Friday imo

I'll concede a lot to you these days Billy as Ricky has really begun to impress me, but in no way shape or form does he punch with the authority that mitchell does.

lora i agree is no where near world level, but a potential bannana skin. kevin gave a good performance imo. team tibbs to my knowledge have never come on here and revealed what happened in sparring, yet on several occassions u have aired your views on the sparring. i think kevin or any other pro boxer would admit that on occasions other fellow pros would have got the better of them in sparring. its like saying nigel benn or chris eubank won every round they ever sparred against a gym collegue. also its like saying ricky burns has never lost a sparring session. your right to support your fighter and i respect that u come on here and share your views, what i disagree with some of your opinions and obvs revealing gym info.

Form lines are one of the best ways to assess relative levels, as long as you don't use it as the sole reasoning for a fight's outcome. Understanding styles helps too - even on that basis you have to pick Burns. Good jab, good movement, decent defence, excellent body attack and a strong recent run.

It's a shared contemporary opponent, it would be silly to discount that. To me it's the strongest indicator that Burns is a level above Mitchell.

Carl Johanneson is a common opponent as well...

Not contemporary though, and he nearly had Mitchell out of there.

I'll be well pleased when this fight gets made, have a decent punt on Mitchell, 6/4 and above i'm hoping for.

I personally feel Ricky punches very hard to body, his power overall i wouldn't say is great but it's sorta respectful power that helps him. If he was a light puncher people would walk through him.

Mitchell punches well, not world class power IMO but nowadays not many have that but accumulation of Mitchell's shots do take toll on fighters.

I think it would be a good fight, i'd give Burns the edge.

He almost had Ricky out of there too. Plus he won almost every round against Burns.*

But you are right, the Johanneson fight means **** all when talking about Mitchell - Burns as Ricky has gotten MUCH better since. But I don't think the Kats fight is the be all and end all when judging this fight either. After all, Mitchell has had his best win since then coming off a year lay off

Also, I think Mitchell punches hard to tw body as well (see Murray). And there's more of Ricky's body to hit
