There's the same argument you just made for picking Mitchell to beat Khan.

That's not exactly ALL you need to look at to make a pick. I favour Burns, but not solely on the fact he beat Kats and Kats beat Mitchell. I also wouldn't consider this a mismatch.

First off, hi Kevin - welcome to the forum. Always nice to have a pro posting here.

Second, this "well-prepared Kevin Mitchell" is a myth. You can be as fit as you like, but if someone's just as fit and better than you too, it will end badly.

Burns is going to smash Mitchell to pieces. All the things that Murray did which had Mitchell all over the shop? Burns can do them better and he's got an outside game too.

Rubbish - comparing a single round blowout with a calculated destruction is no comparison at all. You can also point to the fact that Khan has beaten better than Prescott since as a mitigating factor.

In this case it's relevant - Burns handled him to a wide points decision, Mitchell was hanging on for dear life within 60 seconds. While I believe Katsidis was a little worn-down when Ricky got him, I suspect he was a little worn-down when he faced Mitchell too.

Burns might win but there is no way in a million years he knocks him out,Katsidis stopped mitchell on his feet and he has far more power then Burns will be a good fight and i see another groves-degale,clev-bellew sitaution here.

I gotta say DFT, for once I don't agree with you. The Mitchell-Katsidis-Burns is in no way indicative of how Burns could handle Kev...even if I do think Burns will win.

No no, I don't mean it will go the same way, I just mean it points to a level of capability that Mitchell doesn't have.

I knew what you were saying but I'd simply chuck in 'styles make fights', Burns was more equipped to beat Katsidis.

kevin mitchell is a lot better than people think. if he prepares right he could give burns a good fight.

Its no mismatch. Burns has a slightly better record than Mitchell. Its clear that not one is too far ahead of the other in terms of skill or talent - but its a different story when it comes to personality, attitude and work ethic.

no he didn't,he looked ok against a pretty tough but limited man,who on many cards murray was ahead at the time of the stoppage:hey

mitchell will loose to burns, prob not stopped(though he could be)but certainly a wide shutout:deal
