No he's not, as a 2-division champ he's fairly accurately rated. Miguel Vazquez on the hand flies badly under the radar. He'd beat Burns handily.

When wil it be worth his while then? Burns is on fire and I've been chomping at the bit to see him unify, all this ****ing around with the "scott harrison(who surprise surprise looked like ****ing ****) john murray or mitchell rematch"

    ****IN UNIFY THE ****ING TITLES

mate you're talking to a guy who laughed when people called Vasquez a "cab driver" back when he beat Breidis Prescott, i know all about Vasquez, Burns would still beat him

I want to see Burns DeMarco, think it would be an absolute tear-up!

Doubt we'll see it though because DeMarco would be too high risk low reward if he loses to Broner.

I wouldn't mind the Vasquez neither but he's out in late October and they want Burns out in December again, so who does that leave?

The best marketable and available fight for a December showdown is Gavin Rees. And to be honest, I think it makes a decent scrap so I'd be more than happy with it. After the new year he should really look at the other champions though, the division is pretty wide open.

Rees is a little too small to deal with Burns. He'd have a very intresting fight with Mitchell.

You see Burns as 'a poor man malinaggi'? You have seen both Burns and Paulie fight yeah?
Is this based on the fact they are both regarded as light punchers? because in every other way, not least stylistically, there are no similarities.
For what its worth, I think Burns beats DeMarco - Broner and Vasquez, I can't call.

Vazquez is very underrated but I think Burns beats him no. Vazquez has yet to fight a solid boxer let alone a world class one like Burns. And the last time he did he last to Canelo and Bradley barely winning a round. Burns just doesn't feed into Vazquez's style. But I do think it will be a weird arkward fight that Vazquez def has a shot in.

I dunno, Rees is smaller than everyone he fights. He's very fast getting in and out, I think he can make it interesting early on. And his jab, for such a small man, is simply phenomenal. I think it's the perfect fight for December

Ricky Burns vs either Antonio Demarco or Miguel Vasquez is a 50-50 fight.

Burns-DeMarco is probably the most match-up fight to be made at 135 - I don't see how that could be a bad fight. Both can box, fight and are very tough.

DeMarco is the top Lightweight right now and I think he's the best stylistic match for Ricky, who'd probably struggle more with Vasquez and Broner.

Ricky has been vocal about his desire to be Ring magazine champion, so hopefully he'll push Fwank to make these kind of fights. Knowing Fwank, he'd happily have him face the likes of Rees and Murray for the rest of his life.
