has ricky burns fought a mandatory contender since he won this title? i know terdsak jandaeng was his number 1 contender not long ago, it's now eloy perez?
I do know, actually. Since you had your rankings shiz, I was hoping you'd put up the top 10 instead of me having to go to Boxrec for their names again. Fana Uchiyama Takahiro Ao What about one of them for Burns? Can Warren not secure any of these?
Perez last fought over a month ago for the WBO NABO title, don't think it was a final eliminator. I'm sure it was Martinez who was to fight an eliminator in his last fight but he pulled out for some reason.
maybe there's better opponents, but bigger fights, i dont know. how about good old terdsak jandaeng, or jason litzau. there's also luis cruz who had a win on the jm lopez - salido bill, i would say all 3 of them are better than nicky cook at the minute.
Looks like we've got another Frank Warren paper champion. You can't call yourself a world champion if you aren't fighting world class fighters. Billy, Sort it out, Billy Billy, Sort it out. :-(
Nicky Cook with 2 fights in a couple of years is still better than the last couple of defenses so things are on the up whats to moan about? Litzau and Broner are better challengers that come to mind but arent they fighting each other? Not many contenders its not a deep division. Ricky beating Martinez was a shock, he hasnt had the big money put behind him (hence not selling big tickets for his defenses to date) so a fight with a named former World Champion and decent fighter in Nicky Cook would be a good profile boost if Burns Wins and im sure slowly but surely FW will step up in opposition class. Or would you rather Gamboa come up in weight and blast him out in a round now??
ok. Super Featherweight (130lbs) World Championship: (Vacant) 1. Takashi Uchiyama (WBA) 2. Mzonke Fana 3. Takahiro Ao (WBC) This content is protected 5. Juan Carlos Salgado 6. Jason Litzau 7. Roman Martinez 8. Sergey Gulyakevich 9. Vitali Tajbert 10. Adrian Broner 11. Daniel Ponce De Leon 12. Jorge Solis 13. Agenis Mendez 14. Elroy Perez 15. Luis Cruz (IBF title Vacant) Do any of those really set the pulse racing. Ponce De Leon would excite me but not the average boxing fan.
