I love how Frank has been able to get that fight booked before Cook is in their rankings.

 

That says more about the other 2 defences than it does Cook

 

Frank is not going to get the Japs over and Burns is not going to Japan.

Best hope is Mendez picks up the belt and Frank can offer him decent money to come over. He ever went to S.A. for an eliminator and would have fought Fana there as well. Plus he has a British trainer in Lee Beard.

It won't be long before he's due a mandatory against either Perez or Cruz.

This is the very reason many fighters have should leave warren, he is a big promoter in the UK but he only knows how to milk it for himself and build fabricated records for his fighters.

Its still an improvement, the last 2 have been atrocious and Nicky Cook isn't that. The rankings have already been posted its not a who's who of lb for lb'ers and you know what that suits Burns. He needs time to be built up and marketed, grow into his role as 'World Champion' its not gonna happen overnight, hence my gamboa statement. Cook fight makes sense

 

Ishy do you think Burns could beat Mendez if Mendez got the ibf strap? I think it would be a terrible fight for him. Mendez isnt that well known and would imo beat Burns fairly handy. Probably dont make a difference as Mendez will be moving up soon apparently. I can honestly see Burns making a few more of these defences before fighting Broner in the states. Thats if Burns beats Perez
