Billy i honesty think your a decent fella, please font take any offense to anything i have wrote as nothing is meant in malice. My point is that Buckland is a domestic kingpin who has beaten the brit champ in devasting fashion and looking for bigger things i,e euro or world honours and Ricky chooses Cook instead when Buckland would be a better and more credible choice!

I understand you cant come out and say its tripe, but being as you are standing with your opinion that Cook is more deserving (which is laughable quite frankly). Please dont ever knock any fighter from now on for fighting gimme's as this is Ricky's 3rd shocker in a row. I know your lining your pockets incase the wheels come of the bandwagon but after the mandatory i will be expecting you guys to chase the big fights, if not at least fight Buckland (Who imo would beat martinez. I cant see martinex ko'ing him cos he took everything off murray at a lightweight!).

Fighting Cook is a joke and you can see for yourseld due to the response on this thread from myself and others, I will however thank you for your time in responding to my questions and I wish you and Ricky all the best for your upcoming fight. I will however be killing you off next time another gimme fight is lined up! Be warned kidda :) seriously tho, all the best!!!

Cant remember anyone thinking ricky would lose his last 2 fights mate, and he certainly wont be losing this to this ****er. Beating martinez was a big ask and he came throught, fighting these lower calibre fighters will only make a fighter regress over time and wont help to improve!

So Nicky Cook is a '****er' now:lol:

Wont stop you cheering him on like a madman when hes fighting Burns though, will it:deal

A lotta Burns hate going on in this thread, I wonder why;)

At the end of the day hes fighting a former world champion in his neck of the woods, what more do you ****ers want for a title defence?

    Seconded.

I think people have more of a problem with the way in which Cook got the fight and are letting their frustration get on top of them to the extent that they can't see what is in fact a fairly interesting match up.

Its not uncommon for one time champs to automatically get ranked high by a sanctioning body and get a shot at the title despite inactivity. just how boxing goes Im afraid.

You need to take the career of Ricky Burns back a few years and think about his loss to Carl Johannsen and then start moving forward...:yep

Ricky has done fantastic since then and has proved himself...:yep

Why do people find the need that fighters should have a war in every single fight...:think Why put uneccesary miles on the clock...:nono

As a Champion it is your prerogative to get the fights that matter for a number of reasons, the first and most important is that they have to make cash common sense, that goes hand in hand with the second, risk v reward, and finally it's a fight where there can be consolidated learning and an opportunity to make another step forward...:yep

When a fighter is in a big stable his promoter is never going to put all his fighters in the toughest fightsof their lives all at the same time, it's boxing, it just don't work that way...:yep

So taking you back to my first point, Ricky Burns has had a fantastic journey and has fulfilled his potential and really achieved something that nobody can ever take away from him...He is a World Champion, it rolls off the tongue don't it, say it slowly and think about what it means...:yep

    Come on Ricky Burns...:happy

Personally I don't think there's any hate going on for Burns.

They merely want him to take on the leading fighters in the division, as he did when he took the title from Martinez.

We had one reasonably soft defence, then a Vargas/Clarke level mismatch and now a fight against an inactive ''ex-champion'' who won his title against a man who'd never won a world title fight.

It's also worth noting that Cook was stopped by Martinez.....

It won't be interesting when Burns dominates him for six rounds and gets him out of there......

    See above.....

Nearly brought a tear to my eye

Honest mate that martinez puches so much harder than John, the thing being Gary failed at British title level against John, hasnt done anything at SFW and your calling him for euro and world titles, let him earn the right to fight for those titles.beating gary sykes in prizefighter hardly constitutes fighting for a world title.all the best mate:good

You are actually the most biased **** on this site. This is the third time I've said it on this thread - Cook has fought once in 2 years since being KO'ed by the guy Burns beat for the title. That fight was against a guy with 33 defeats on his record. If you can't see that this fight is a joke then there's really no helping you.

Easy win for Burns. It's far from a good fight but at least Burns is staying active and should get some bigger fights down the road if Fwank pulls his finger out.

calling for Buckland to get a shot at Burns instead of Nicky Cook is ****ing ridiclious.
