Ricky Burns vs. Paulus Moses & Paul Appleby vs. Stephen Ormond RBR

Round 1

Appleby barrels in and throws a left hook to the body. Ormond pushes back at the taller man. Rights to the body by Appleby. Quick pump-action left hooks to the body by Ormond. Nice low crouch by Ormond, getting in Appleby's chest and making him lunge down at him. Appleby whacks away with underhands and tries to back out to get some straightness on his jab. Ormond ducks in and stays glued to him. High guard by Ormond, catching jabs. Clubbing right to the side of the head by Appleby, landing mostly with forearm as Ormond ducks down into him. Hook to the guard by Appleby. Ormond leaves his right arm pressed against Appleby's left and hooks away up top, hitting mostly shoulder. Clinch. Jab by Appleby. Ormond hops forward and throws some wild haymakers with his left. Appleby blocks. Clinch. Whipping left hook to the buttocks by Ormond ducking in around the side on Appleby. Clubbing rights to the back of the head and left hooks to the body by Appleby. Left hooks to head and body by Ormond. BIG looping right behind the ear by Appleby, sent Ormond staggering.

Round 2

Appleby is backing up throwing left hooks and right uppercuts down at the head of Ormond as he submarines his way in with earmuffs on. Ormond is doing his woodpecker routine on Appleby's body whenever he gets close. Whoa, big haymakers to the head by the little Irishman. Appleby blocks the flurry, then ties him up. Jabs by Appleby, circling out to his left. Wild left hooks by Ormond stepping forward, leaving himself open. Appleby is more concerned about stepping away and making it to long range than exploiting countering opportunities. Long left jab by Appleby. Lots of tying up as Ormond jumps in past the jab and gets swallowed up. Big hooks upstairs by Ormond. Lots of wrestling. Jab and overhand by Appleby, caught on the gloves. Staredown after the bell. Almost came to late blows, it looked like.

Round 3

Ripping left hooks to the body by Ormond as he ducks and runs in on Appleby. Lots of jabbing and grabbing by Appleby. Big heavy shots by Ormond, trying to smash down the guard of Appleby while jumping forward. Almost constant holding by Appleby when Ormond gets near him. Appleby throws some wild underhand lefts and rights but Ormond threads his way straight through them and starts whacking the body. Tie up. Ormond is pushed nearly into a corner before the ref gets in for a break. Big hooking attack to the body by Ormond. Appleby backs up and throws some long uppercuts, initiating a wild exchange where both get clipped. Wild left hook by Ormond misses and Appleby ties him up. Uppercut by Ormond while getting pushed to the ropes.

The commentators think it's been toight all the way and suggest judges' cards could be all over the place.

Unless Ormond gases, Appleby is in for a long six more rounds...
