There are some fighters you really love, mate! I like Gamboa for the record, but I think he's as flawed as Lopez. Difference is he's older and seems quite happy gun-slinging even to his own detriment. Even though he's not been badly hurt, taking four knockdowns in 19 fights is never a good sign. Consider the guys doing the knocking down and I think there are opportunities for Lopez to do damage.

I do make it a 50-50 fight though, Gamboa constantly drops his left when he fires the right and Lopez is always looking for the right hook. But Lopez pretty much abandons defence when he opens up... there are dangers for both. But I've seen Lopez be more methodical in his career.

 

Some would say love, some would say worship... some would even say obsess over and therefore abandon all logic when it comes to fight predictions

Next step is a restraining order put on me by Cotto

 

If he can make 5-6 WBO defences then he's going some. If he manages to up his game and win another title or beat a great fighter then so be it. He's a real champ, beat a good operator and deserves props. Someone will have his number, if they do, then let's hope it's a couple of years down the line and for big cash.

gamboa is a notch above lopez i feel, if they fight then lopez will get hurt at some stage and he will NOT be let off the hook by gamboa imo. personally i dont feel lopez will want to fight gamboa.
