I'm not saying he was the best at any weight class but he was was at least top 10 SFW and a top 15 LW for me. Achieved much more than the likes of Tony Bellew, Paul Smith and Scott Quigg as well as Anthony Crolla yet these seem to get morr credit because they're from Manchester and Liverpool.
Yep world class. Beat Katsides who was on a downslide but still a level above Then an excellent win over Martinez, a good one v Kevin Mitchell and Gonzalez You cant fault beating those guys. You can say this guy was past it that guy did this or that but Ricky got the win. Mitchell may fight for a world title soon, Martinez hasn't done too badly has? and Gonzalez seems to have disappeared but they are good fighters no question. I do think Ricky best days are behind but he can be rightly proud of those wins and his career
Seems a nonsense that you can’t say Ricky did well to get where he did with the talent he had without Mr Blobby jumping down your throat. Yes Ricky was a good fighter, yes he was the best in the UK……..but come on when he faced a genuine world class fighter in his prime he looked awful.
He was! Can someone explain what the point was of Ricky fighting at the higher weight on Saturday? he himself said he made the weight easy? and previous suggestions say he was struggling to make lightweight? Is the differnce only 5 pounds in lightweight to LWW? If so its even more of a joke!
Go back to your fried mars bars you sweaty......whenever the debate gets diffcult you go down to that level.
Seriously if you walked into any gym you'd get chased out coz you a vile twat who criticises pro fighters ect and you haven't got the balls to do it youself WANKER
Ricky at his best was a top 2-3 SFW, and a top 4-5 lightweight, so that is world class. The level in those divisions has dropped massively from 8-10 years ago, so YES Ricky at his best was world class in his era, would he have been 8-10 years ago, NO as better depth and quality of fighter on world stage. But done great with his talent, but moment he cant bother to train hard its time to pack it in (which was case last weekend) as he don't have world class talent, but had world class application
