    During the Wigan vs Millwall Semi Final weeks ago when the fighting started the guy in the avatar stole a police hat and thats him back at his seat showing his mates.

    i think it will be a tough fight although Ricky is looking fantastic in the gym very very strong and quick,This is Rickys mandatory and has been forced upon him.
    Once we come through this im sure there will be big fights for Ricky with the likes of Abril,vasquez or Gamboa all of which would be in Glasgow and that can only be good for boxing in the UK.
    Ricky still isnt the finished article he improving every week still and is totally focused on this important fight

    You could be wrong there.Id be willing to bet Ricky doesn't stop him,like he has done a few tough fighters,like Mitchell.

    Ricky Burns and his team are top people. The way Burns comes across on TV is a proper gent and that is good to see.

    I think he has done absolutely brilliant in achieiving what he has, but I am one of those doubters that thinks to a point he has over achieved and if he meets a genuine world class operator he will get found out.

    I like him, and will state again I think he has done brilliantly to manoeuvre himself into some decent money fights but I simply do not rate him anywhere near the P4P best fighters.

    Well IMO he could fight any of the top LW or LWW in the world just now and have a great chance of winning, please beleive me when I say he is at present genuine world class but he's still improving which isn't good for everyone else

    It will be great to be proved wrong.

    For instance you should avoid Broner. People are clouded in their judgements because Broner is proving to be a right stupid arrogant c&nt but that doesnt stop him from being a very special boxer indeed.

    It will be great to see Ricky Burns carry on defending his titles and winning others, but, I just think he is at a level now where if he takes the fights you want him too he simply has to improve.

    You know because you work within the sport that the step up from fighting fringe world class fighters to genuine world class operators is a huge step up.

    All the very best, The UK needs the likes of Burns to succeed its just I have my doubts.

    Agree with this,which is why i started the thread we have gone round the houses but come back to the initial point

    I admire burns and want him to be classed amongst the best but i just think up at light welter the type of fight he produced against katsidis and moses wont be enough to succed in a deep division

    I would love to be proved wrong as well but the reality is if i had a gun to my head now i would say he could be outclassed at the weight above

    To be honest mate, alot of people think Broners overrated, including alot of yanks ive spoke to! Dont buy the HBO hype!

    :lol: Iv'e never claimed Ricky to be an elite p4p fighter, but i think he can mix it at that level when he gets there. If the likes of Danny 'Average' Garcia can, then sure as **** Ricky can.
    I don't think there's much hype around Ricky Burns, unlike Broner.

    Broner's considered an elite fighter when he's fought nobody at that level, they even have the cheek to put him in the p4p top ten. Right now he's a total hype job with overrated ability. Paulie hit the nail on the head when he argued with Broner at the press conference. I hope Paulie clowns that ****, he would have in his prime.
