Rob for a country that has 10 x the population of Scotland how come you only have 1 world champion boxer the same has Scotland? The answer is simple England in a professional sense are under achievers of the highest order.

Some of your points are of someone who has no right in making such statements, people who are involved in the sport on a daily basis laugh there heads off at some of your comments Rob, why don't you try going to a gym watch,learn and then maybe just maybe you will have a better insight on how boxing and boxers operate.

This thread is basically Ricky Burns fans in a nutshell. Quite funny I have to say.

As for the England national team, they are the most boring, overpaid, overrated shower of ****, and have been since we last won the world cup. They aint winners, and they aint good enough, I don't care if we reached a semi and went out on penalties, we aint good enough, not then or now. Together as a team they are ****. If Billy honestly thinks the whole of England believes we are still the best. Then you need to get over here mate, a very small percentage of zombies actually care about them, the rest can't stand England.

I personally hate when there is a national team break, because there aint no club football and they all come back injured and tired for the clubs.

The only reason why Ricky Burns has got this following in Scotland, is because they have something to hold onto. As for football in Scotland, its been torn apart and is dying. No club team challenges in Europe anymore, its just the SPL and the cup, Celtic and Rangers are huge clubs, but they don't win **** all on the big stage anymore. Celtic got out the group stages and beat Barca in a nothing game, and they celebrated like they won the thing.

Football and boxing are closely related in terms of fans, so now they have something to be proud of and passionate about, they are going to hold on for dear life and defend their man to the hilt, no matter what. Scotland finally have something to talk about apart from Braveheart.
