Every fighter is different. Ricky and billy have a bond. I don't think they will ever go into a fight divided. Naseem hamed is an example of what can happen.

I saw an interview where Eddie said he wouldn't put Darren in with Gennady because he didn't want to put his fighter into harms way in a fight he wasn't ready for/ would probably lose badly

And while I type this Oosthuizen is getting battered by another Gonzalez

Burns fighting Crolla would be an awful miss match I doubt I would even watch it to be honest. I've watched Crolla for a while and he has absolutely nothing in any department to remotely trouble Ricky.

I just wish when asked Burns would say no, I'm levels above and this fight will not happen. Crolla has 4 losses at domestic level.

  5. A few of us have been slated for daring to criticise Ricky's poor choice of opponents and you might also get invited up to the gym for a pie eating contest for that comment!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ricky Burns and Eddie Hearn will be delighted if arenas are filled for such dross fights where the outcome is certain.

Until the mug boxing fans in Glasgow stop buying tickets, the fighter, manager and promoter will keep milking the poor Jock boxing fans who really deserve better after financially supporting Burns.

Only empty arenas will stop this ****.

  6. Spot on

The fighter is sending out a clear message by accepting these fights that earning easy money is his priority.

    He is a champion.

Are you trying to tell me they'd struggle to get him fights without first beating Beltran? Nonsense.

Beating Beltran and doing it in style gets him more attention in the States coz lets face it HBO have pretty much said they won't show much more of Vazquez or Abril because they are pretty boring fighters where as if Ricky was to score a few KO's of well respected fighters that would peak intrest in the fights which is why Beltran and Crawford are being talked about.
