Was a big Ricky fan but his best days are behind him, from my sources he trains like an animal but trading Nelson for simms was a pointless move ochastrated by Hearn. Simms gets his fighters 12 - 15 rounds fighting fit which Nelson did perfectly well. All your seeing from Burns now is him trying to load up on his punches which is not Ricky's positives.

Think Billy Nelson said something on a other thread about him trying to get on the Dublin bill i might be wrong though but leaving it late if he is to be added.

I think if you had read some of Billy's posts regarding Ricky he has said that for the last while Ricky had stopped listening to him and had started talking back!!

If that is true then it would have been impossible for Billy to carry on training him anyway and imo it has been a blessing in disguise for him. Ricky has looked worse since he left and Tony Sims/Eddie Hearn are getting the brunt of his downfall but it might just be Ricky himself who has caused this sharp decline in form by thinking he doesn't have to listen to his coaches anymore.

I wish Ricky all the best but he really needs to decide if he still has the hunger to learn at this stage of his career and if he still has the desire to fight at a level lower than he has over the last few years. If the answer to any of these questions is no then he should retire before he undoes all the good work he did by becoming a respected world champion.

Perfect post I'm a massive fan but I don't want to see him ruin all the positive work he done in some fights that he wasn't supposed to win by becoming stepping stones for the likes of Campbell/Coyle etc so if he doesn't want to learn to get himself back to a good position then he should just retire before he gets hurt.

Hes down at Simms Gym now training , saw a tweet of him sparring ohara davies last thursday , Not sure what or where he is training for tho as when questioned several times by different people Hearn seems to avoid the ? of ricky like the plague , Imo of late it looks like Eddie has no intrest in Ricky nor promoting anything in the near future in scotland

I noticed that and thought it was a bit strange, yet I don't think any of the current crop would beat Ricky if he's on song, the main threat would be Bradley Saunders yet Ricky handled him with ease in sparring.
Personally I believe Ricky goes back to LW can't understand the weight issue all of a sudden coz he wasn't struggling prior to the Crawford fight, infact he said to be he'd never done the weight better

In all honesty I'm starting to think that's the only reason why eddie would keep him on, as a 'name' to go on a coyle/Campbell/crolla's cv as it's clear he isn't headlining a show in Scotland in the near future

The rankings are very disrespectful to lads like Limmond Saunders etc as that boy ricky was in with was a complete and utter muppet

No dOubt 18-24 months ago Ricky was a level or two better than Saunders, Campbell, Coyle e.g but at the moment I don't think he is. Maybe if he sees a sports physiologist and listens to his trainer he could be again, but he is not as things stand

How did ricky's court case go with FW, thought it should have been done and dusted by now
