Bottom line is Ricky Burns deserves a big fight more than anyone other than Carl Froch on what he's achieved in the sport, hope it's a big one and winnable one

He was good mate and same quiet..

I said he could do it. If Ronnie had started in boxing at a younger age he would of been at the lighter weights. I never said he would or should go anywhere other than Super Feather. Ronnie makes Super Feather easy when his heads on straight and could if you guys really wanted make feather. I also agree with you David he is stronger and best at Super Feather. My point earlier was the fighters can make the weight if they really wanted but as they get older Ricky and Ronnle it gets harder to boil down. As I said before I disagree on fighters boiling down anyway. Hopefully he can get a fair crack at something he's proven he will fight anyone anywhere. Good personality and entertaining just needs a break and he will get there mate.

Anyway Happy New Year mate and also to Billy aswell

How exactly, he's been awful in his last 4 fights and absolutely doesn't deserve a world title shot based on those performances

I am a fan of Ricky but it's difficult to objectively argue against this opinion.

In fact someone could argue it's not even 4 it's his last 5 he's not looked impressive in.

obviously I see your point but bear in mind he was a previous 2x weight champ 8-1-1 in world title fights, there's boxers out there who haven't earned one shot yet alone two or three, it really is down to the promoter you have and there contacts

Billy did you see that Jose Gonzalez made a return to the ring a couple of weeks ago with a tko, some sketchy highlights on YouTube.

Although Ricky was well beaten by Crawford, his judges score was much better than Beltran.

I don't know the answer to Ricky's apparent malaise and wouldn't presume to suggest one but maybe he should take one or two steps back to ultimately go three or four forward.

I've got a horrible feeling Burns is gonna be fed to Lucas Matthysse on February 28th, Matthysse is fighting for the vacant WBO 140lb title and they need an opponent.

Former WBO 135lb champ who only recently lost his title to the fighter of the year in Terence Crawford would be an ideal opponent for Matthysse to pick up a world title and look devastating in doing so.

He'll carry on at LW, he's already said he made LWW to comfortably and there's no way he or his team would put in him with Matthysse especially after him saying that + only having 1 fight at the weight.
