A lot of people here are posting about Ricky not listening to his trainer. The thing is, Ricky was blasted to the canvas twice in the 1st round. After that, I'm sure his brain was somewhere between fight-and-flight mode, stung pride, and general confusion. Even when he looked Mayweather in the face, I'm sure he wasn't hearing anything from his mouth. All he knew was that he was in the fight of his life and had to do anything he could to try and salvage the situation, the best way he knew how. Basically, the fight was over after the 1st round. God himself could have come down from the rafters with angels singing and it wouldn't have made a difference in Ricky's state.
