"Everyone will have a view on it but from my point of view Ricky shouldn't be fighting - it's not good for boxing and it's not good for him more importantly. He's just been in hospital for whatever that was."

"Financially it's a fight Amir would do really well out of but Ricky would get stopped again. I don't think he should fight. If he wants it I'm sure it could happen but for his health he should definitely retire."

When pressed on the issue he added: "You know what happens? The fight happens but later down the road God forbid anything happens to Ricky then people blame boxing, instead of greed."

"If he wants to put himself in there then that's his decision - he's not a baby, he's 30 odd years of age - but sometimes fighters go on too long and it's not good for them. Bad things can happen."

Genuine concern for Ricky and Boxings image from Frank IMO.:good

:tired Down the road means they will wait until he is absolutely positive that Hatton is shot before putting Khan in with him.

Do you think Hatton is shot, Jeff?

Or do you simply feel he was out of his depth against Pacquiao - who is a stylistic nightmare anyways.... and Khan is a different proposition entirely?

Khan's one of the least damaging opponents he could face, for the highest amount of cash.

However, it wouldn't be good for his legacy if he ended up losing against Khan at 140.

Might as well have a farewell fight against a bum and then hang them up. He'll go out with decent record, the only two losses being to the best fighters of the decade.

No I don't think he's shot, I think he was caught between styles against Pac but would have lost anyway. I think him against Khan is going to be fascinating.

If Khan legs it through 12 rounds he will win on points if Hatton can close him down he can win it. I'd be entirely unsure of how it would pan out. Prime Hatton stops him.

Yeah - a prime Hatton vs Khan matchup would end up like the Rios or Stewart fights.... or possibly the Malignaggi one.

Malignaggi can actually take a lot of punishment. Don't know if Khan would last 12 against a prime Hatton.

Just thinking about the potential bodyshot to the frail body makes me shudder.

Yeah.... Paulie was brave in that one, after the right landed in the 2nd the fight was effectively over.

    I think this is either...

A.) Warren is genuinely concerned about hatton's health...
B.) Warren is being a promoter, trying to bait hatton into a fight...

My take on this, is hatton will fight again, but I don't think it will be khan...aslong as freddie roach is in khan's corner, hatton won't take the fight or

he would take the fight to pass the torch, so to speak, take one last big pay-day, and would have his moments against khan...

I think Frank is concerned about Hattons health and boxings image, because as he says boxing will get the blame if Ricky gets hurt.

As you say the business man side of him is also dangling a carrot at Ricky by almost telling him what to do, when Ricky will take it that he can't cut it anymore.

Wasn't he in hospital for something to do with his liver? **** all to do with boxing, more like his dodgy lifestyle.

I don't think he's completely shot just because he got KO'd by Pac. Past his best for sure, thats quite logical at his age with his style.

It's up to him if he continues, he's not at a point where its absolutely neccessary IMO. I've not seen that kind of erosion, he got KO'd by a much better fighter. It's not as if he's moving like a slug in the ring or losing all kind of power and timing. If it happened against Khan I'd agree, but at this point if Hatton wanted to continue the fight makes sense.

I think Ricky needs to fight Witter if he comes back. Settle the bad blood in the ring while they are still active.
