After Ricky's rather embarassing defeat at the hands of Money, at a weight division which is clearly not suitable, there are four possible opponents for him to get a title at Light welterweight, and get his career back on track.

Which one of these champions should he fight?

    Rees- WBA
    Malignaggi- IBF
    Torres- WBO
    Witter- WBC

And Please give a reason for your choice.

    Why not make a poll?

I'd vote for Malignaggi. It would be interesting to see his performance against Hatton and compare it to the Cotto fight.

Ricky needs to take a tuneup against a C level opponent. Getting beat like that can ruin a fighters confidence. Their are facets of Hatton's game that need work. Fighting a lesser opponent next wil build up Hatton's confidence and will allow him to work on his flaws.

I know by all rights he should fight Witter for several reasons. But I think Hatton/Torres would be a wicked scrap.

Malignaggi would be ideal before the big one against Witter

Malignaggi just can't stop him running forward like a tank. He's so physically strong at 140, and Malignaggi hits like such a girl, that there is only one outcome

Witter is definately a no-go for Hatton in his next fight. I think Witter has the style to beat him.

I think you can make a case for all of the other three.

I would like to see Malignaggi because it would be an exciting fight, that is if he can get by Ngoudjo on the 5th January.

I sense some sarcasm here. What I mean, is that it is an embarassing defeat to get knocked out in that way by a fighter who had not knocked anyone out for three fights. I think Hatton has admitted he let his heart rule his head, and he left himself too open in both the 8th and the 10th chasing a win.

PBF knocked out corrales...you don't see anyone saying he got embarrassed. If you say hatton got embarrassed you have to say all the other HOFers who got owned got embarrassed too.
