Ricky do you feel bad that you dodged Junior Witter and made fun out of the fact that you starved a man out of the big money fight he had worked so hard for? Do you feel like a hypocrite for calling him on 'calling you out and trying to make a name for himself by calling you out in public' when you did the exact same thing to Floyd Mayweather? Are you happy that your business decisions stopped a man from getting his championship shot a you when in reality he should have had a domestic dust up with you almost a decade earlier? Do you still think it's funny how you taunted that man over him not getting the fight with you even though he worked his way into the number one contender position? Would you like it if it happened to you?

Hattons arrogance robbed the public of a 21st century Benn-Eubank, & although I have mellowed as a poster as I get older(nearly 40 now!) I still think Ricky Hatton should have fought Junior Witter. people forget what a **** Ricky Hatton was before his losses, he was one arrogant little git.

 

I don't give a **** about Witter anymore than any other boxer. I'm not a Junior Witter fan, I'm just a fan of boxing and in boxing fighters should get the shots they deserve, this man Witter was the number one contender for ages. I was saying this **** on this forum when this was actually happening. Sometimes boxing politics mean that fighters don't get the shots they deserve, Charley Burley, Winky Wright for some time periods etc. We have to accept it. But Ricky Hatton actually taking pleasure from it and taunting Witter on how he would never get his shot while he was the champion, it disgusts me to the pit of my stomach. Disgusts me. I don't give a **** who would have won the fight, the man should have gotten his chance.

 

You are preaching to the converted my good man, who can forget when ricky Hatton turned up to goad Witter after one of his wins & taunted Witter in the ring, doing a silly dance... Ricky had a fine career, but the lad was arrogance personified when it came to Witter, & the sad thing is that prime for prime it was a 50/50 fight, but in Hattons head Witter was a joke compared to Rickys greatness...

Damn, now Im remembering why I didnt like him! Just when I thought those old wounds were closed for good...

And yep on everything else you said here. Sorry to reignite your dislike for him! I don't really dislike him anymore, but whenever he comes up I always think of this, I can't help it. His career did a lot for the profile of boxing though, it must be said, and I am grateful for that, but at the same time I'm too much of a purist to really give that much of a **** about the political aspect of boxing. First and foremost I just want whats right. Maybe I'm not being realistic and it seems I am actually living in dreamland, but hey.
