Too much holding, hitting behind the head and spoiling by Hatton. Hatton is insanely overrated. He was never very good.
Hatton was a brawler, he threw caution to the wind many times...that dosen't work against the likes of Floyd and Pacman as we all know. Thought the ref helped PBF a bit but still had floyd winning on points, until the knockout. I like Hatton came to fight and it worked for a long time, good that he retired though, Pacman knock out was a career ender for anyone.
One of boxings great myths. Ive seen far worse.Tszyu didnt complain once and was massively respectful towards hatton after the fight, saying he deserved the win.
Hatton and "referee" Dave Parriss were absolutely disgraceful that night. In fact Dave Parriss's performance that night made Joe Cortez's performance in the Mayweather-Hatton fight look like a vintage Kenny Bayliss performance. That's how ****ing useless Parriss was(is). In the 6th round when Hatton held Tszyu behind the head and hit him 6 times,I was waiting for Parriss to step in and admonish Hatton, but no.He just stood there admiring Ricky's work. But that's typical of Diamond Dave.Anyone that has seen him ref MAB-Khan or Rogan-Sexton 1 knows EXACTLY what I'm writing about.
He was GREAT at fighting dirty and complaining when the ref didn't allow him to do it.When Cortez(himself a **** ref anyway, but nowhere near as bad as Parriss)didn't let him hold and hit,his fans flooded ESB to complain. But not a single one admitted how filthy he was against Tszyu.
Not a myth. It's the truth.Parriss was a ****ing joke that night, allowing Hatton to do whatever the **** he wanted. And Hatton was filthy that night. All that shows is how classy Kostya is(was)because Lord knows that Hatton and his fans would have been bitching about the ref because he and his fans did so about Cortez.
In the real world, the only way that happens is if you take pre-featherweight Pac against any version of Hatton in Manchester with Dave Parriss refereeing.Otherwise that isn't remotely possible.Pac has beaten men that would have thrashed any version of Hatton and Hatton has NEVER beaten anyone as good as Pac.But,if you want to believe what you wrote, cheers.
I've barely seen any of Tszyu...for the people who used to watch him, what was his left hook like? I'm asking because I've always thought that Hatton was most vulnerable to the counter hook (from the front hand) because of the way he charged in with little defence. Mayweather famously nailed him with it, Pac dropped him in the first round with it, Lazcano seemed to hurt/stun him with it quite badly, and Magee dropped him with it too. Did Tszyu have a good counter hook? In those highlights he seems to favour the straight...
Cortez' performance was worse, actually. He was over-officiating from the first bell, yet once he realized Mayweather could handle any rough stuff on the inside, Cortez let them do what they like.
