It was like a ea sports game, the way he would close the gap, side step, sometimes head movement.

Within this era, his top 10

If we can make ricky hatton an atg in a category, I say its cutting off the ring. He had good footwork.

Name other fighters who can do it as good as prime hatton?

He nearly gave Floyd a knockdown lol. Nearly.

I could name a few fighters who would benefit from having hattons footwork.

    :D

Hatton Vs Mayweather got me back into boxing, so respect to the dude for that.

But at the level boxing is at these days, and when you look at Hatton's opponents, I don't think he fits into any ATG categories. Perhaps top 10 in some.

He was great at cutting off the ring. Crazy thing is that he got knocked out for walking in straight line towards Floyd.

Yeah, he made mistakes, imo, shouldn't of gone back down to 140, outboxing malinaggi, was a good win though.

He went to america, beat collazo, should of stayed at 147, he was at 140 for his whole career. And we know he loves a fry up.

Pac doesnt hit hard enough to one punch ko him like that, it was the weight. Though he walked onto it.

Rubbish, he was great at sniffing cocaine, drinking, abusing his body etc folks! This guy was 2 divisions bigger than floyd when he started out, but blames the referree? Madness, he never fought fundamentally sound guys folks. Remember his friendly refs too?

For me one of the very best at shutting down distance and cutting off the ring was Johnny Tapia. He would throw like 6 punch combos just to get inside before he would even start to go to work. He had fantastic footwork in his prime.

Ricky employed a "Scissor" step which allowed him to take a few steps back to avoid incoming, then without having to regroup launch straight back onto the opponent, on the way up many a good opponent had a look come over them when their supposed fancy footwork availed them little....sadly it went a little awry further down the line..

Not hard to cut off ring when you wont let your opponent out of your clinch.
